How is that even possible. I mean don't they only have like 5-6 lines of phones. Are they planning on realeasing new ones. Maybe 16 like tour 2 for verizon is one tour 2 for us celluar is one. Then i can see it easy.

I don't think 16 new Blackberry lines, more like different models for different carriers. Like the Tour 2, the Pearl 2, each will have variations and what not.

That would be the Bold 9900 which is 1/2 and 1/2. Looking forward to that phone in Q3.

I can see 16 devices definitely possible if you count that in this quarter we already got three new BlackBerrys; Storm2, Bold 9700, Curve 8530. Not to mention the Pearl 9100 is on its way and the Essex is coming up too.

Who knows though, maybe we will get a complete new series introduced or entirely new devices (internet tablet anyone?). I wish some series would get renamed though, currently as it stands there are in total 9 different Curves: 8300, 8310, 8320, 8330, 8330m, 8350i, 8900, 8520, 8530 (did I miss something?).

    haha

I think this only proves though, that the Curve series is the most succesful series of all BlackBerry smartphone series. I dare you find even a rumor on any other BlackBerry than the 8350i, which will exclusively run on the iDEN network. I mean, it's really awesome RIM have put so much effort in a series that most wouldn't probably call the high end (though with the recent additions to the series like the 8520 and 8530, it sure does seem to fit the low end specification more and more, that sucks as an 8900 user lol ).

The 9900 will be the same as the 9000 but better camera, trackpad and touchscreen in addition to the existing keyboard.

It's possible considering the Model numbering and band of phone. Ex. 9700 on ATT/Tmo arent the same as the 9700 in Germany, Asia, or Canada so right there you'd have 4 models

Yeah, the websites I saw said that this is a rumor (the 16 devices coming out). They also listed the ones we already know of (essex, 9100, curve 8530, etc.) So, i don't know if its true, i just thought i'd share this information with you all!

This is easily doable if they're going to keep re-releasing phones in different colors.

And all the phones that had trackballs can be re-released too. That would be another 5 Curves right there.

16 phones over a years time is very doable. Actually, it's expected.
Didn't RIM release like 9 or 10 this year?

I don't think the 8300 series would be rereleased since the 8500 series is there replacement. Some 8300 series can't even run OS 5.0 like the 8320.

They still need 85xx series curves (3g, trackpads) for ATT and Sprint... and maybe US Cellular... if we are only going by new phones for the US... but they could count the different colors too to make the 16 for next year next year.

And since a lot of people are so up in arms about not all the Blackberrys being capable of Open GL, they could put that on all the new Dakotas if they come out next year. Wonder how many models we would see of that phone?

What is going to come out in Nov. of next year... gotta have some new BBs drop then too... (Storm 3 with Open GL?)
