As far as that side by side testing not being accurate unless you do it yourself....i have done it myself. Since I have both systems...i ran the PS3 and the xbox 360 side by side with Call of Duty 4. The 360 looked better and was faster than the ps3 was....and on top of that...the ps3 claimed 1080p and would only give 720p. I have never not been able to get 1080p off of my xbox. Just my 2 cents.
James
u sure ur tv can do 1080p?
unless u have an hdmi 360 with the hdmi cable, or a vga cable, u wont be able to get 1080p.
i have a 22inch monitor connected via vga and i can do 1080p. no point tho on such a small screen.

yes sir...i have an HDMI cable running from my xbox and my ps3. They both go into an Onkyo 1080P reciever which runs to a 46" Sony Bravia LCD 1080p tv. I also have a 40" sony bravia 1080p lcd...thats what i used to do the test. I was getting 1080p on the xbox COD4 cause my tv's tell me what the input is...but the input was only 720 p on the ps3.
