-
its the legitimacy of the credit cards
-
this hackers want the legit info
-
so they can quickly duplicate and cash in
-
before the bank take notice
-
i suppose most victims are cover should they be a fraud not of their own doing
-
you can rationalize that they are stealing from the banks
-
since financial institutions will be bearing the cost of such crimes
-
i suppose we can view it as small thief stealing from big thief
-
but somehow the cost bearer will be the legit people
-
i mean the federal government already bail out the banks who suffer from the subprime loans
-
indirectly its the regular people whos money were stolen....
-
its getting trickier with credit card theft
-
not so long ago they targetted all those gift cards
-
especially credit card gift cards
-
use to be they use fake credit cards to pay for them ....
-
that got busted soon enough
-
then they graduated to just copying down the serial number of the inactivated gift cards on the display
-
the moment an unsuspecting customer bought the card and activated on the cash register
-
the value of the money is gone
-
-
-
meanwhile retailers can do nothing about it
-
-
since they make zero money on the gift cards
