$5000.00!??? I don't know, no? Other phones are a pain in the *** and if I could blow $3800.00 in 2 years then that wouldn't last a few months!!

Heck no. I could have 5000 spent in five minutes. Now for 5 million a year for life we would have a deal.

$5000 to give up BlackBerry as a platform? No not a chance, as I have confidence that RIM will continue to release quality phones for years to come, and I don't want to limit my earning potential by not being able to take a job that requires a blackberry.

I would Need $5000 per Month to give up my blackberry and be happy to settle for something else for the rest of my life.

    For life? Nahhh.

Maybe for $50,000 and a free Andriod phone.

5k aint ish, that will barely cover my student loans. I use my blackberry for my business, so unless I'm getting at least 5k a month for not using a blackberry I'd have to say NO THANKS "for life" is a long time (or could be a long time)

    Negatory.
I would, however, /pay/ to see that giving up of the bb never happens.

I would not. For 10,000 on the other hand then were talking, but 5,000 is not alot of money...

If the next gen iPhone can multitask, I'll give it up for free

The BB is REALLY good at what it does, but it's core OS is a bit dated and RIM kinda follows the competition instead of trying to beat them... Unless RIM pulls their act together and start building a truly new OS, they are SOOO going to lose the smartphone race over the next 5 years

I'd say I'd give my BB up for 10 000 , then I'd buy and identical BB

Uh, is the money up front or do I have to wait until after my life to collect? I'd take the 5K and get some sort of Android phone.

Oh heck no. There's a price, but it's much higher than $5000. Much. It's best expressed in scientific notation.

Add another 0 to that and I can live with an iPhone 3Gs.

If it's ANY Smart Phone all together, add two 0's. LOL

TBH, if the 32GB Rogers iPhone 3Gs was also $599.99 ($799.99 up here) I would've switched. I was pissed off with RIM after exchanging my Onyx for the 4th time, BTW it took 6 exchanges.

Last year when competition was low and BlackBerry was new to me I would have said never in 1000 years but now I would actually trade my BlackBerry for a Nokia N900 if it could work on my Network. It's pretty sad that RIM keeps coming out with ridiculous curves. The new BlackBerry Bold 3 better be some crazy **** or I'm gone. If all they do for the BlackBerry Bold 3 is give it a touch screen, upgrade camera to less than 5mb, and processor to less than 1ghz then RIM simply does not care about people who do more than emailing and texting. I want to give my money to a company that innovates and has some crazy ideas, I don't want t give money to a company which is trying to keep up with 2 year old technology coming from competitors.

Depends on if the deal included a clause that I could NEVER have another. If this were the case, I would want enough to pay off my unsecured debt around $25,000. With my money worries, my BB is the only thing keeping me sane!
