You don't think that has anything to do with the age of the platform?

Sent screaming from my ThunderBolt at 4G speeds.
Why would it have anything to do with the age of the platform?
Fact is blackberrys stay for much longer in use compared to androids and iphones.
They are well built but also easy and cheap to fix and cheap to insure.

Value for money doesn't just translate in the initial price. Look at it over 2-3 years and blackberry works out a lot cheaper overall.

I guess you have never been to Mexico. It doesn't get much less expensive than down South in Mexico. Assuming you are referring to Manufacturing.

Everything in the world is already made only in China. Well, except for debt that is the last remaining item we manufacture here in the good old U.S.A. It is a shame to see what has become of a once great Industrial Country.

What currency does Norway operate on? I'm guessing has pictures of cartoon characters on it, and it probably takes a billion or two of them to equal $1US.

Hey Norli, I'm from India, and we have respect on a world stage. China can kick Norway's a$$ ten times to ****.
And what do we know about Norway, hmmm let's see what does Norway offer the world........NOTHING...
The world won't even miss Norway if it was drowned. I guess we won't even miss it for a week...
Get real before you go on about "Third" world countries like China and India....we don't live on borrowed money like Europe.
Ah yes! It's the we can kick your **** so you don't matter rule. Sounds familiar but then again I am an American.

Here are just a few small facts about Norway after a quick Google search taken from the U.S. State Department Web site "http://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/bgn/3421.htm":

    * Norway is one of the world's richest countries in per capita terms. It has an important stake in promoting a liberal environment for foreign trade. Its large shipping fleet is one of the most modern among maritime nations. Metals, pulp and paper products, chemicals, shipbuilding, and fishing are the most significant traditional industries.

    * Norway established a petroleum fund (the Government Pension Fund Global) to save and invest the states oil and gas earnings. The fund reached a milestone of 3 trillion kroner (over $500 billion) in assets in October 2010. Thanks in part to prudent financial regulation and to high prices in world markets for its energy and fisheries exports, the global financial crisis has had only a limited impact on Norway. Norways unemployment rate increased slightly to 3.7% in April 2010. In recent years, labor costs have increased faster than in its major trading partners, eroding industrial competitiveness.

    * Norway is the world's sixth-largest oil exporter and second-largest gas exporter (2010), providing much of western Europe's crude oil and gas requirements.

    * In addition to strengthening traditional ties with developed countries, Norway seeks to build friendly relations with developing countries and has undertaken humanitarian and development aid efforts with selected African and Asian nations. Norway also is dedicated to encouraging democracy, assisting refugees, promoting a global response to climate change and protecting human rights throughout the world.

    * Form the latest news headlines... "Tata Power and SN Power, Norway entered into an exclusive partnership in 2009 to develop hydropower projects to meet the increasing energy demand in India ..."

listen bro: there's a reason why you don't see 3 year old androids, becaue technology is changing fast, and people who love Android phones love hi-tech. Same with Apple-nerds.

Blackberry users are mostly old farts or people like me who have a lot of friends and need a convenient text messaging device. I don't care aboute technology. As long as I can watch porn on my phone and send messages I am happy.
Most people who own iPhones that I know don't even know what a processor is. As far as Android, most people I know who have that bought it cuz a rep told them to.
As far as BB owners being "mostly old farts," why don't you come see what the number one phone is where I go to law school? Most common phone here is a BB, owned my people in their id 20's. Maybe you're confusing age with success?
I bought both of my current Blackberries used on Ebay. I could never afford a new item that is as horribly overpriced as the Blackberry
Another absurd comment. Other phones cost just as much or more.
What it comes down to is what you want. If you want an android then buy that. If you want an iphone then buy that. If you want a blackberry then by that. And from what you have said it sounds like you just want to **** and moan and then stay on blackberry.
    This.
Might I add that it should apply to forums you frequent too? WTH would you come to CrackBerry if you just don't even like BlackBerrys?
The OP is just saying what has been said on here soooooooooooooooooooo many times.

The bb should be cheaper because it's specs (not what it can do) don't come close to other phones specs for the same price and I hate to say it but do agree.

I'm sure most of you know that.
There's a lot more than specs. If RIM only made BB's you'd be right. But unlike other carriers, RIM provides push email, BBM, and other data services. They also build their own OS, which prevents you from giving all your personal information to advertisers via google. Buying a BB is investing in a heckuva lot more than just a phone. Amazingly, RIM does all this and stays out of debt, AND keeps their prices competitive.
Everything in the world is already made only in China. Well, except for debt that is the last remaining item we manufacture here in the good old U.S.A. It is a shame to see what has become of a once great Industrial Country.
    NO freakin joke.

In conclusion, we got my wife's 9330 for -$0.01 - that's right, RadioShack gave us a penny to take it. I realize that's subsidized, but were there other phones that gave as much as that 9330 that were free? Hells no.

I'm hungry after all that, who's gonna make me a sammich?

I wasn't the one who started with First World and Third World non-sense. Where does China and India bashing come up in a BB forum.
And if this Norli fellow somehow feels more entitled because of having been born in his precious "First" World, then a little correction would do him good.
If you had gone through his other posts you would have noticed that his insults are targeted more at America for it's borrowing ways.
This guys needs an attitude check and deserved what he got...
I don't believe the "My country can Kick your Country's a$$" comparison any more than you do...

I apologize then for the tone of my post and agree with you that terms like Third World and First World add little to contribute to the enjoyment of a forum whose primary focus is on the Blackberry which most of us enjoy and appreciate.

I will think carefully about the points you and others including the moderator have made and with regard to attacks which although was not my original intention the final product speaks for itself.

Yes, and iPhone 4 is 30% more expensive than a Blackberry Torch...but honestly I can understand why
I can't say that I agree with you. I have played with the iPhone and my girl has a torch. I definitely prefer the torch. I thought I'd hate the slide up factor, but honestly, I just think that phone is perfect.

But I do see why people think it's underpowered. But I also think that, for me, it was fast enough.

I was thinking about this earlier. I have a 9650/6.0.0.415, & was wondering why my phone is the same price as an Evo. Whats the reason? I think you pay for the push email. I spent 4 hours searching through web pages endless with complaints. "Heeeellp I can't get push email after Froyo." One executive said he missed an important email, which I imagine cost him about $300-400 dollars. BB build quality is also pretty good.. The soft touch finish feels amazing.
