Here is a fun and potentially new stat to the conversation.

No modern Democrat has ever won the Presidency following a Democrat. It's been 150 years. Even more interesting (sort of at least) Reagan to Bush is the only time in about a century that any party retained the White House.

Says a lot about how the country feels after 8 years of one party in the White House. It also make me thing the country really liked Ronald Reagan.

As for me, I cannot decide which train wreck I'd rather see. Consider me undecided or "None of the Above".
Those are interesting statistics, but it will be the first time that a political party puts a reality TV Host out as there front runner... so let's just see how this one turn out.

I'm confused (a more normal situation than I like to admit). What exactly is an immigrant?

Is it a person who comes to a country for a better life who is willing to learn the customs and language and follow the law? Who is willing to work hard and contribute to society? Who follows the legal entry guidelines? Obviously I have an important and selfish reason for this question.

If that person is just coming to get on the welfare system, I dont want them. We don't want FOREIGN freeloaders who come and multiply into even more freeloaders! Why? Easy! Less free stuff for me!

If that person is coming to re-create what they left why the h311 are they leaving their country? And who is stupid enough to let them takeover pockets of the host country? And more to the point, less free stuff for me.

If they come illegally, well they broke the law! Doesn't it apply to them? Aren't others following the law? Why do the lawbreakers get rewards by being allowed to stay? And why do I get less free stuff because of lawbreakers?

If they follow the rules and come here to work hard, I'm all for it! That way, you guessed it, more people working equals more free stuff for me.

"Aren't we all immigrants?" Well kumbayah to you. None thinking can't we all just get along reasons like that is why France and Sweden and Norway and Germany, etc are in crisis right now!

In conclusion, (I feel brainy writing that), I dont want my entitlement to free stuff endangered by non working, possibly dangerous "immigrants". Wow, writing all that was hard work. I'll try not to make it a habit!

"I don't think that word means what you think it means."
Here, Google can clear up those iffy definition questions pretty fast.

"Immigration is the movement of people into a destination country to which they are not native or do not possess its citizenship in order to settle or reside there, especially as permanent residents or naturalized citizens, or to take-up employment as a migrant worker or temporarily as a foreign worker."

Oh and that second part is just about every person that's made your food when you went out to eat.

Don't forget all of those working illegal immigrants pay taxes and will never received a refund, pay Social Security and Medicaid without being able to apply for benefits.

Did you mean "don't pay taxes"? I thought illegals were paid under the table so there is no paper trail leading back to the company (as its illegal to employ illegal workers). And companies paid them less because no taxes were being paid... Otherwise, the company's competition would just call immigration, no?

No offense sir but you have no idea what you are talking about if you name venezuela as a successful socialist democracy... do you know that in that country today people are lining up to buy toilet paper? Or when you go to a supermarket after chasing down a sad bottle of milk for a month the cashier will check your national id since it will be sold according to the last digit (0-1, Monday; 2-3, Tuesday and so on)... I am not kidding, research a bit before supporting an idea...

Trump had 4 bankruptcies out of over a 100 companies. That actually is a pretty good record. I have clients who have had more than that. Most golf courses have 7 before they turn a profit.

He must be doing something right. It was pointed out to me that every time he undertakes a project, he finds and hires the best talent, ie baling out the NY ice rink, multiple golf courses, etc.

Whether Carly destroyed or saved HP is up for debate. The main question is did she learn anything about leadership.

Show me a successful socialistic democracy. Hmm, Venezuela - or perhaps Denmark where they have the highest tax rates, etc. And also a failing economy. Bernie's heart is right, but methods wrong. Also, look at what he has accomplished in 22 yrs in Congress. Partial author of 2 bills. Can he bring together warring parties? Me thinks not.

How are they paying social security without a social security number. Many of these people are working "under the table ". They are eligible for school education and thefts was a report just last week that hundreds of millions of dollars are being spent on subsidized health care.

Let me explain to you at least how it works in the Restaurant industry.

-If a employee has paper work that may or may not be real, an employer has to take it at face value, because they are not " document experts " . So on paper they are all legal, but they just might not be who they say they are.

    - to wages, a good cook or fryer can make well over the minimum wage, but it still work that the average American still don't want to do.

    - immigration doesn't have the man power or the will to disrupt the Restaurant Industry as long as everyone is in the book somehow.

So you might as well call Immigration on your self because everyone's dirty in that respect.

Good, private property is just a fallacy and everyone is required to do just as the group demands, democratic Socialism. Locked doors must be banned because it is not Christian to leave people out in the cold. Food should be a right that does not require payment because it is wrong to deny food. In many states it makes better sense to not work since the safety net is so generous. So glad I'm paying for my health care when other coworkers are on Medicaid since they are not married but decided to have a child. Oh and before you say war on women, my wife and I drive a combination of 325 miles each day to work because we don't take hand outs. My wife also has a second job to boot. Get up off your rump and work. Shovel manure to get some extra money like my wife did during college. How much of my family's money is the fair share? I have a friend who has kidney failure and is working a regular job and makes tackle which he sells to stores and at fishing expos. So tired of the "poor me" parasites.

The common mistakes that people like you make is that you look down and not up, why does Warren Buffet have a lower Tax rate then you? The Billionaires in America have been getting Tax breaks for years and additionally sheltering there money in off shore account and fake company's but you can only think about a few people abusing the System on the bottom. The scales are tipped unfairly in there favor which causes someone like you and your Wife To work two jobs to get by.
As to your friend I'm sorry to hear that, if the American Health Care system was set up like in all other Modern Country he wouldn't go Bankrupt while trying to get treatment, it's not right to make massive Profit on people's Health when all they want to do is live.

Read this Article For a small example of how over priced Health Care Is in America, even with Health Insurance Your rates and Premiums will continue to rise when you become unprofitable.

If they have the necessary paperwork to pay into taxes, they have the paperwork to file taxes and use the benefits.

Dwight Eisenhower taxed the hell out if the United States and we built the Interstate Highway system. Tax cuts have ruined this country. We either need to go back to the tax system of the 1950's or stop policing the world and putting our kids in harms way for nothing or hopefully do both.

Eisenhower warned of the military industrial complex. Combine that with big oil and big banks and you have the situation we were in in 2008.

These Republicans want to roll back things to the way they were. I guess they mean gas at 5 dollars a gallon and double digit unemployment.

Obama did a great job considering what he was left with.

Now I'm going to vote for "the commie" so he can finish extracting us from the Republican cesspool.

Democrats and centrists are to blame for one thing: not showing up to the polls. And not heeding history. From Hoover to George W. Bush a Republican run government equals a disaster.

How about another true story about the great Obama Care that was forced on us. Let me ask you how in the F is that affordable health care? All yes you can afford health care but nothing else. And now you want a Socialist to take even more. But we will get free stuff! Big business will pay for everything! It's all Wall Streets fault! The Government will fix everything! People you have to be smarter than that! Let me ask what Government Program has ever panned out? All and the Obama administration is proud of a 4.9 percent unemployment rate. 4.9? is that true? how many millions are off paper? Let me remind you all in 2008 the unemployment rate was 5 percent. Not true in the least, and, honestly, anyone who believes this sounds like they've been listening to too much right wing talk radio about how people on SNAP are buying lobster for dinner each night and BMWs for every member of their family. What social safety net we have for the least among us is in fact being eroded by good "christian" politicians in Washington and state legislatures while the people in dire need of that assistance (the vast majority of whom are children) are dehumanized as moochers, leeches, and takers. The truth, however, is that most of the welfare in this country goes to the top 1% in the form of tax breaks, subsidies, and bailouts, yet no one denounces them as takers.

So glad I'm paying for my health care when other coworkers are on Medicaid since they are not married but decided to have a child.
Generalizing out from yourself (and what you imply is the perfect and only way to live) to everyone else and then criticizing those people who live differently smacks of arrogant presumption. Accusing people who cannot afford health-care of making a mistake by having a child (regardless of the conditions under which that child was produced, which you have no way of knowing) is rather insulting, and it's a shame that you can't see that.

Oh and before you say war on women, my wife and I drive a combination of 325 miles each day to work because we don't take hand outs.
I'm not really sure what you and your wife's combined driving distance has to do with a verifiable attack on women's reproductive rights and the measurable inequality they face in the workplace, but... congratulations? As for not taking handouts, though, I always chuckle when people say this because you and everyone else who makes this demonstrably false claim must not make use of the police and fire departments, must not drive on public roads, must not go to libraries, must have been homeschooled and must homeschool all their kids, must not go to national or state parks, and must not pay taxes (because as much as you claim to hate taking handouts, I assume you hate GIVING handouts just as much).

My wife also has a second job to boot. Get up off your rump and work. Shovel manure to get some extra money like my wife did during college.
So, you're going to tell someone to shovel manure or do some menial labor that, with today's cost of tuition, would do absolutely nothing to pay for college and all the related expenses that go with it? Why do you just naturally assume that (young) people today don't want to work? I've worked in higher education for years and I can tell you for a FACT that people today are working hard at multiple jobs to try and mitigate the debt they'll have to deal with after they graduate, a time in which they'll work harder than you and your wife ever have and ever will because they'll have no choice.

How much of my family's money is the fair share? I have a friend who has kidney failure and is working a regular job and makes tackle which he sells to stores and at fishing expos. So tired of the "poor me" parasites.
Good question. How much of your money is the fair share? Why don't you take a look at the benefits that YOU receive from others (because, yes, you do), consider the plight of your fellow human beings, and then vote out those politicians who are more than happy to give most of your money to the top 1%? Ask them why Boeing gets $13 billion in government handouts, why Berkshire Hathaway receives over a billion, and why the most profitable corporations on the face of the earth receive more welfare than the "'poor me' parasites" you THINK are the problem.

You're a bit all over the place, but if sounds like all those jobs with hours cut were part time to begin with.

If your wife worked in Canada, she'd be below the poverty line and wouldn't pay any premiums.

The problem with your health care system isn't just insurance premiums, it's that it's operated for profit, with multiple levels of cash extraction. The whole system needs to be scrapped and started over from the ground up.

You can't simply go by unemployment rate in 2008, you have to look at where it was heading, which was a steep increase and not a flat line that would have continued at 5%. In fact, it was already 7.8% when Obama took office.

I pay $75/month for my health premium and government also pays a portion of my prescription. My salary will almost double this year and it still won't increase my premium.

I don't know what a former California colleague currently pays under Obama care, but years ago it was $6000 a year. I paid roughly 1/10th as him. Your system was broken before, and still broken, just broken in different ways for different people.
