So I thought that I would start a thread to see what everyone's first cell phone was, seeing how phones have come a LONG way in such a short period of time.
My first phone was a PrimeCo. prepaid phone (WAY before it was called Verizon). It was a big black bulky phone with a green backlight and terrible digital. You couldn't even fit a person's full name on there. And then, it had NO vibrate function at all. It was horrible!!!
I'm really aging myself here.
My first cell phone was in 1987. It was a Motorola permanent brick thing hardwired into my company car with the antenna on the rear window and it took all day for the installation.
My first hand held cell phone was the old Nokia 8xxx something. You know, the ones that everyone got in the early 90s? Really fine phone. Of course it never had all the data features that today's phones have, but still a fine phone at that.
I had one of the AT&T Bag phones, huge, heavy, I left it with my mom when I left the country, she still has it somewhere, I would love to see it again and put it on the coffee table as a conversation piece
lol i had almost the same exact one expect it was with voice stream before it went to tmo.......i got it when i was 13 because i had to take the train to school by myself.......i was a cute 13 year old
It's not my first phone but I still have a 1996 Isuzu Trooper with this installed. The phone isn't activated but it works if I call 911. For some reason I keep it as an extra vehicle (only 95,000 miles).
My first cell phone was a NovAtel 8320. I can not remember when I got it but I do still have it and here is a picture of it. The big black brick in the front of the picture is the lead acid battery!!!
my first cell fone was like walking around with a xbox it was in a bag and it sucked. then i went mobile and that thing was the size of a 40 oz. huge fone
My first phone was a Motorolla that was about 12 inches long, with a 10 inch arial on it that wouldn't fit into a handbag! I was 15 when I got it, and I used to poke people as I was walking past them because it would stick out so much!
This was my first phone (or another Nokia very similar to this). I was in high school and I think you got 80 min./month...no nights and weekends or nothing. I'm pretty sure I ran that bill up and pretty much worked just to pay it. Aw, the good old days...
Mine was a nokia similar to that one posted above the 5165..that might be it I cant remember the model number. I liked it alot but what I really like was the game snake! I was soo addicted to that game
My first phone was with bellsouth dcs which became Cingular then att. It was made by mitsubishi and the ONLY thing it did well was the battery came out easily. Like it fell out. A lot. But of course it was a phone I was 16 and so I was cool. Lol.

i had one of those nokia's with the changeable face plates and the hard antenna that i chewed on lol.. i mean i was in high school. i don't know, that almost made it sound worse. anyway, i remember REALLY wanting the little brick model for some reason... it had an updated version of the snake game, and who the heck doesn't like the snake game?
my dad had a car phone in the early 90s, it was loud and obnoxious and the size of a loaf of bread lol.. does that count??
My first phone was from the candy store it even had some gum inside it.
But my first phone that made calls was an old school nokia I think 6100 or sumthin like that all I know is if I threw it at somebody it would have knocked em out. Oh and the best part of the phone it had that snake game dam I was good at that game.
