I haven't been sleeping well lately due to being VERY pregnant. What tips can you share that help you fall asleep? Obviously, alcohol isn't an option!

well I can tell you one thing that doesn't help you sleep. I don't sleep well so I start fooling around on my BB, but instead of getting tired I just get sucked in even more...this thing's addictive. But seriously, I like winding down to planet earth.

Tai chi, meditation and breathing exercises help me to calm down and I'm asleep in no time. You can usually find courses of varying quality on any or all of these in your area. They aren't usually physically demanding, which is ideal for pregnant women. Doing it properly will even be beneficial for the baby.

Also, a clean room will help. Clutter causes nervousness.

Watch a movie that you've seen a dozen times. Pick one that isn't scary, or a thriller of any type, I usually watch Troy, Bad Boys 2. Works like a charm, and I'm usually out within 15 minutes.

When I was pregnant and couldn't sleep I would read anything that I could find. Now when I can't sleep I surf the internet on my Curve until I pass out.

I've had so many late nights and early mornings these last 2 weeks, if I watch a movie without using my laptop or BlackBerry I just drop. I've seen half or Casino Royale and half of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

If you can't sleep b/c of your stomach, try sleeping in a chair with no arms. I used to put my pillow in front of me and face the chair. This added to some boring news show gave me a great amount of sleep.

I have insomnia and to fall asleep I also watch movies I've seen before, or play nintendo wii for 15 minutes and I drop.

Being that you're VERY pregnant the only thing that'll work is giving birth. Lol.
Hope you get some rest soon!

Watching TV is a bad idea according to research.

My advice? Lots of sex. Seems like you got that part down.

(maybe today maybe tomorrow )

    hahaha, a big 'O' is usually a good sleep-aid...however, sometimes it's a energy booster.

Kudos to those who just stay up until they simply pass out.

haha i do the same thing...that's one that that will not help you get to sleep. what i do when i'm having trouble sleeping is to think about something relaxing, like picture the beach or something that relaxes you. Then just think about this image until you fall asleep. Also don't think about what your doing tomorrow or if you need to write an email or do something later, because that will just keep you up.

I think it's kind of a practice run. Most women sleep terrible in the 9th month. I hate to tell you this, but it will be about 4 or 5 months after the baby is born before you will sleep more than 4 or 5 hours. It's best to think of it like this.

1 month old baby - 1 hour stetch of sleep
2 month old baby - 2 hours etc etc etc
