Other than 767, 777 and 787 I think any 737s, 747s and 757s are still heavily based on 707s and 727s era power and design engineering model theory..
Agree. But the post that pawned this side discussion was about the fact that the USAF is still flying B52s. For most direct equivalency, we'd probably need to find some companies still flying 707s (beyond I think the publicity stunt that Quantis and John Travolta had going).

Oh. I am completely wrong. The spawning post was about 707 tankers.

Some of the initial design concept work for those, will be 100 years old before some of the last of those stop flying.
For clarification, I thought we were talking about the B52s. My wrong. My comment applies to the B52, which is a bit older than the 707, and I think the USAF will still be flying them for a few more years.

My walkman which I've kept in pretty good condition these past years. Couldn't bring myself to move on from it, really takes me back sometimes!

I’ve got an IBM Thinkpad R30 I use just when I have a fit of nostalgia, but it’s finally on its way out - that 31 year old TFT screen now has a permanent green line of pixels.

I have used my Walkman periodically over the years, too. Fun to listen to music without ads or notifications.

I love old tech. Must be, I’m in a Blackberry forum site. Just curious, what is the oldest piece of tech that you guys still use pretty regularly in your home? Anything. Blackberyy, auto, 8-track, what?

For me, it is a Sony Watchman Fd-20a. This is a portable, handheld cathode-ray TV from the mid-80’s. Works only on analog signals, which are long gone in USA. Mine still runs, and I’ve jimmied up some other tech so I can watch digital TV signals on the Watchman. Recently watched some NFL playoffs on it, for fun.
My 1925 American Telephone and Telegraph candle stick, works like the day Western Electric produced it !

We got a "Cell 2 Jack" device for one of my kids for Christmas off Amazon (the kid loves old stuff). Now the kids uses a rotary phone when at home. The "Cell2Jack" basically acts as a POTS phone exchange, and then connects to any cell phone via Bluetooth. From the phone's perspective, the rotary phone is just another hands-free device.

It's fun to play with. Since I do not have a landline, I am tempted to try and hook up the Cell2Jack to my old windows98 machine 56kmodem, to see if I can achieve dial-up internet (for nostalgic demonstration purposes). Or, maybe see if there any C64 compatible Bulletin Board numbers still out there.

Hey you know what, when reading using the CB Android App pictures don't always appear and as in this case I actually imagined an actual candlestick. Too funny and this could make you a finalist if not the winner!
