What secure Brower for a computer?

Hi Folks,

What browsers do you use for your computers at home that are secure?

I am looking for someone that does not collect all your information. Maybe a European browser is that exists.

This does not depend on the browser only. If you avoid the Internet Explorer you can have good results with Firefox, SeaMonkey, Opera or even Chrome. But it depends also a lot on what settings you have, what Addons you use and on your behavior.

For secure any privacy conform browsing you need to do a long list of things:

• uninstall the Flash plugin
• limit the use of cookies, delete existing cookies
• limit the use of Java Script
• install an ad-blocking addon
• install an addon which protects you from website trackers
• install an addon which protects you from gassy HTTP headers
• install an addon which enforces HTTPS instead of HTTP
• switch your browser's Phishing Filter off (Google Safe Browsing API)
• avoid hard disk browser cache
• limit the use of your machine's fonts in the browser
• hide your IP address (use the Tor network)
• ... (a lot more) ...

Definitely. I did some research on Tails and it's pretty damn awesome. I've yet to use it, but from what I've read and heard, it's very secure.

First, accept that security on the interwebz is a myth. Once you've accepted this as fact, limit your online encounters to only things you'd be OK going live in the wild. Then use one of the self-proclaimed 'secure' 'browsers of the month' (as suggested prior, tails is acceptable.) While funneling VPN/proxies and using public/general population WiFi when applicable... Building your own server adds a little more enhancement as well, but again, remember, NOTHING online is truly fortified, only temporarily secured. Where there's a will, there's a way. Low-tech is the closest one can get to obtaining security, anything more is simply a gamble...
