Always was into phones and technology and had to get the NEW phone and what not. But then when I found out I could get what was called a blackberry I was estatic! So estatic that I couldn't wait to get it LOL. So I finally got and never looked back. I had an experience with a Window Mobile Device, and it was absolutely horrible LOL. The whole interface and all just upset me, it was not easy to use.. So thats when I knew. I'M STICKING TO BLACKBERRY!
My best friend's mom had one.
Her mom is the best, and I was like hey. They look so cool.
Then my boyfriend got one and begged me to so we could talk on BB messenger all the time. So then I got my pearl. :)
Too bad I ended the relationship 2 weeks later. LOL
I also have regrets...too expensive sometimes
For me, it was my son going to colllege. I'd used palm non phone PDA before but since his schedules change for school and work and I have soo many meetings with my church I decided to go ahead and shell out the $60 for the Curves when my NE2 comes up in May. I snagged a used pearl off of ebay to use in the interim just to get used to the software.
I never thought I would have anything like a blackberry. My nextel phone finally got destroyed so I decided to stop by BestBuy and check out some new phones. I had always been against smartphones, never seeing the point in them. I just wanted something that could call, text, and play music. The next thing I know I'm playing with the sales reps Pearl and had my own 30 minutes later. I don't know how I ever went without this device. I only wish I had known how much I would love it and had gotten the Curve instead. 15 months until I am due to upgrade..
A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to try crack, when I said "sure" he handed me a BB!
FOR ME- I bought the iPhone in July and was interested in it like everyone else. Down the line, i wanted to do so many things, MMS, zoom in camera, and copy/paste. My girlfriend has a BB 8310, i set us up on a family plan, so i looked into the Bold. Today i am a happy owner of a Blackberry Bold. Im still a bit new to the forums and glad to learn everything about it
about 2 and a half years ago I saw everyone at work had a bb or pda phone so I bought a bb (7130c) I didnt get much feel for it so I returned it ( I know how can I right ) anywho Like a month after the company sent me to a bb training and they gave me a phone there (7130c) so I was ok then so I started messing w it and I fell in love w it and now Ive been through almost all bb phones ( had 4pearls 3curves and now the bold) so I cant get enough of BB I cant even try another phone unless is BB ..... I am addicted
Hello All...Nice to be back
I've had many phones, beginning years ago with a "bag phone"! Lots of Nextels, W/M Treos, Palm Treos and more.
I had my 8130 for a year and a half. Time to upgrade w/Sprint and got the HTC Touch Pro and the Touch Diamond. Had to give winmo a try again just to be sure I suppose...always thought that more aftermarket software was available for WinMo. Not worth it even if its still true.
I had the Touch for about 1-1/2 months and had all I could take. I would use the device for minimal phone conversation during the winter and a bit of texting and some internet. At mid-day, it would be dead!
We live and work in an area of some significant roaming as well as the St Louis Metro area. Long story but, I contacted Sprint about the roaming, retentions allowed us out of the contract because of inadequete coverage with no fees and we went with US Cellular, like the other 35 phones within our company and got my new CURVE!
I took the train from Chicago to St Louis on Friday. Fully charged I rode back for a 7 hr train ride (includes weather delays from the cold). Surfed the internet the whole time, when I wasn't talking on the phone, texting and instant messaging with Windows Live Messenger and got home with 45% battery left.
I believe WinMo devices would've died and recharged 2-3 times to acheive what I put it through!
Never Again!
p.s. Not to mention the fact that while using the WinMo device, I removed email from the device because the phone just makes too much of a job out of email. With BB, you can set filters for email to use in conjunction with our coorperate server and get no garbage.
Sorry so long, but maybe this will help someone to make a better initial decision than I did and not stray!
That is absolutely priceless lol...but is so true. My story was to find the "holy grail" of smartphones. Looks like I found what I was looking for.
I am not organized at all but ever since I got my Storm I have raised my GPA from a 2.9 to a 3.5!!!:D Thank You BB
I decided to get a BB because it had all the features I wanted on a phone. I use Yahoo messenger alot, as well as MSN. Also liked the email features, text messaging and love the copy/paste. It's like having a mini computer in your palm. Have kept the pearl because of it's size.
I went and got the storm for the touch features and the perks of having to make new friends and networking. Plus the email and instant messaging helps me not having to run to a computer to chit chat or send out emails.
32/m/NJ and wanting to make new friends.

I already had mobile email and VCast VPak on my dumbphone and once I found out they had a new $30 data plan the difference was negligible. I'd always envied people with BBs so I took the plunge. Might not have happened without a touch screen BB but I'm hooked now.
I wanted a device that had style and functionality for an on-the-go lifestyle. I researched tons of devices before finally deciding that the Curve (8320) was for me. I've had it for about seven months and absolutely love it.
i decided with bb because
i was Bored with e90 comunicator, and i give my nokia to my Mother
i like, learned about something new technology..and intensif communication with new people and always Connected with internet
so, that's why, i hold bb on my hand until now
I like the features on it, plus being a university student I can get my student email address on it and helps to keep me organised with my assignments and plus studentdocket as well.
Plus saves me having to log on my laptop when I'm out and about.
I have a shocking memory and if I don't write it down, it saves me carrying around a notepad and pen.

its features that inspired me...
because windows mobile sucked for me
everybody and there momma asking me what my bbm was when we exchanged phone numbers *i do alot of networking*
The thing that most inspired me, was the E-mail,txting and internet.calander. Those are very vital in my job, and i need to be ontop of everything. This is my first smartphone, Curve 8330. I am a techy guy, but always put the phone thing in the back of my mind, so switching from the Sprint "Rumor" to the Curve is a vast improvment and a much needed one.
My friend has a Pearl for his phone, and he kept going on and on about it, so I went to the store, discovered a Pearl isn't comfortable, but the Curve was great. Dumped my Voyager and got the Curve. that's what got me started. I still like an iPhone, though... Just don't want to pay AT&T prices...
twiittter.!
I though it looked cool and i wanted it lol
