I think with too many stocks you begin to resemble an index fund and less of a portfolio. Why not invest in a couple of large-cap mutual funds or ETFs if that is your long-term goal?

You also have to ask yourself if you are really able to follow 10 stocks to the point where you really know what is going on with the companies.

    Personally I have:

    MCD- McDonalds
    IBM- IBM
    NSC- Norfolk Southern
    UN- Unilever
    VZ- Verizon

My other portfolio has GE and a Natural Gas mutual fund

Idv is supposed to be a mutual fund. Lol I want to sell cbs once it reaches the price I bought them at around $7.50. Thanks for your insight!
