There is no doubting the overclock potential of the K versions of the current Intel chips. I have been thinking of going for the i5-4690K since my budget is not as impressive as yours. Fewer threads but the i5 does well enough on real world benchmarks.

You have made the right choice on SSD size. That should also be a nice Z97 motherboard you have, a good match for the processor. Double thumbs up.

I was going to ask, to make sure you have the memory in two 8GB sticks (for speed) and not as a single 16GB... But I don't think they actually make the Corsair Vengeance in 16G yet, so you are probably on the ball with that too. Flawless.

Lol yeah, it's 2 8 gigs, I want dem dual channel! Go for the i5, it's really good! But I needed Hyper threading so I went with i7

Make sure you don't scrimp on the power supply. A good, trusted 700-800W unit should be comfortable.

Why the WD green?

That beast will be a power hog, and the green HDD is not gonna save the bacon. Love your data? Spend the dollars on a Black, those greens are not really survivors... :-)
