Exercise - lifting and cardio. Built like a brick s _ _ thouse, or drinks and drugs. Anything to make the pain disappear. Both work.

Drink a glass of Moscato, turn the lights off, put candles on, and listen to slow jams. It soothes me.

When I was in my early 20's I had horrible panic attacks. It was so bad that I was afraid to leave my house which made me deeply, deeply depressed. I'm now 36 and I've learned so many ways to cope with those feelings. Although I do still get low and I don't always know how to feel better, because I have escaped those feelings before, I know it is possible to feel better if I just ride it out. But, some of my digging out methods are:

1- Go play with my dog. No one loves you more than your dog. No one. If your dog is happy, it makes you feel happy for making your dog happy.
2- Run. It might not work right away, but if you exercise every day, it does affect your mood in a very positive way.
3- Read. Grab your Kindle or whatever you use, find a series of books. Sit and immerse yourself in a story. Sometimes it helps to escape.
4-Make something. Build a birdhouse, build a doghouse, knit a sweater, make a scrapbook, paint a picture.... anything creative, I always feel better when I have something I'm proud of to show for a days work. And if you don't know how to do any of that, look it up on the internet. You learn a new thing, it makes you feel better.
5-Choose something simple and attainable that you want. Make a plan of how to get it. Follow that plan. Sometimes the act of doing something methodical that results in getting a reward restores hope.
6-Don't lock yourself away by yourself. Find a friend willing to talk with you about what's bothering you. Unloading helps.

Those are just some of the things I do to this day. The fact that I'm still here is pretty good proof that these things work.
