Computer Programmer specialising in embed hardware.

I write software for the petro chemical industry. Mainly pressure control systems for oil modules, systems to monitor and control temperatures in oil refineries etc. Very critical things.
The software I develop actually emails me via my BB to report home. Only this morning it emailed me to tell me a temperature sensor was out on an oil platform in the North Sea. I could then arrange the maintainance schedule to have this sensor replaced, the downtime for the particular module in question etc all from my phone without having to get out of bed and make a call.

I don't know how I would live without it - and I only got mine in jan. Before this I was tied to a laptop.

My Blackberry isn't for work, but it does eliminate the need to carry my personal laptop to work to keep in touch with friends and family.
It also helps keep me in touch with my recruiter who helps me find work as a technical writer.

I pay for mine myself as I am self employed.
I do Satellite dish installs for Wildblue (high speed internet via Satellite) and occasionally pick up a Direct TV job too. Anyways, not required but definitely nice to have considering my truck is my office.

Few more apps would be nice though but I suppose if they ever become a must a could pay extra for tethering.

Media Sales. They didnt buy the phone, but support threw BES, along with 21% off my monthly bill from Verizon because I work for the company I work for. I also am allowed to expense my cell phone bill based on my usage, 60-70% for business but depends on the month.

It makes my life easier to have a BB. I am more effective at my job and it shows in my results when I hit budget month after month.

I wear two hats and use my BB on both.

By day I'm a contract computer technican and all my assignments are through email (actually this job was what got me hooked. An IBM tech I work with swore by it ).

By night I'm a security guard and its handy to have all emergency contacts, emergency first aid procedures, laws pertaining to security guards with you. As a added bonus my boss prefers email contact, I'm always wired and ready. Yeah I'm connected at the hip with mine

Same here and even though I own my phone , company would have provided one for me otherwise. I just did not want to have two phones to carry around so I kept my personal phone..

    Asst. Fire Chief.
The department provides all chief officers with a cell phone or a phone allowance. I opt for the phone allowance so that I have my choice of device. The current issued phone is a Palm Treo and I would much rather have a BB. Tons of emails everyday, shift calendar access at all times, and dispatch notifications as well.
You guys hiring out there? Im a FL Certified Firefighter/EMT in search of a job! haha..

Currently im a full time student and work at a restaurant to pay bills while trying to find a Firefighter job.

I have absolutely no use for the blackberry besides texting and emails, and occasional google maps if i get lost.

I guess im more of a phone junkie and i like have the latest creations.

As a full time student I use the calander to manage exams/review sessions/keep volunteering engagements. Otherwise I use the phone for mapping, txting, email, tv (slingplayer), and for music! Or browsing crackberry while in lecture (right now).
