I am a Marketing Director for a web based sports site. The Blackberry is new and has already been a blessing. My contact list is huge and the ability to get e-mail at any time was the main reason I got it.

The ability to e-mail, send photos, and everything else this great tool does from any jobsite, or while driving, is essential in my line of work.
I have actually converted not only 3 of my partners to BB but the owner of the company as well

Sales / Marketing engineer in the semiconductor world. Computer chips. I live in the car and airplanes, and the email access is indispensable. We also have proprietary in house applications that allow access to company info. Having it at our fingertips 24/7 is fantastic. And to think I resisted getting one of these.. now that I have it I have to say it's very nice indeed.
Not to mention I got all my Itunes stuff in it as well.
Our company will give you a BB if you go with Sprint, they negotiated a deal with them for free phones. However, since most of my family and friends are on ATT, and even more because Sprint flat out sucks in my area, I bought my own Bold, but get reimbursed for my airtime and data charges. I keep my family plan with ATT and pay for the other 3 lines of service out of pocket.

Project Manager for a General Contractor. BB 8350i is provided by the company and indispensable for what we do. The ability to be able to snap a photo on a job site and email to an Engineer to get issues resolved is amazing. Plus, this has one of the best speakers I have had on a phone and we can get multiple people around listening in on conversations and providing feedback for a resolution. In addition, as we move closer to 'paperless', we are getting drawings and plans to be send over in electronic formats. With the PDF viewers on the phone, I have access to the most up to date documents available without the need to be tied to my desk waiting for them to come in.

A Firefighter Paramedic, works well with the fire department emails, getting PO numbers for equipment and other duties as a Captain. Shift calender access is a plus. As with others, took the phone allowance so I could choose what phone I wanted.

I'm just kind of curious which careers support the BB as far as buying them for you? Do any require you to have them?

Key Account Manager for a Retail Supplier / Trading Company based near Rotterdam.

A nice red 8310 for work since two weeks now, the device is my own, but the company pays for the service. This one does not have a Blackberry Service, but runs on a normal Data Plan.

I use Gmail (company mails being forwarded to the gmail account) to get my mail. Our CRM system with which e-mails are handled would not allow for direct BB connection. Love the Wall Street Journal app. Keep my agenda and contacts synched via gsync.

For the rest I have still to find out what I can use it for.

Got myself a BB Bold for personal use instead of my iPhone. Still figuring out how to replicate some of the iPhones functions.

But I love them both and wouldn't want to be without them anyore.

I have a beach chair and umbrella rental business. BB is great for getting email rentals while on the beach,
but most importantly I LOVE having weather radar with me! If the reds and yellows are marching down
the coast, I just DC my other guys with my 8350i and tell them to start closing umbies.

Add in fantasy sports, surf report and scottrade; done deal!!!

We're not "required" to have them, but when I was talking to one of our tech support people about BB's she said that usually upper management has them, or can at least "request" one.
