Not exactly... where did the chicken come from then? Since the chicken "bird" is an evolutionary descendant of dinosaurs or ancient reptiles which did lay eggs. Then it's reasonable to assume the 1st chicken "bird" hatched from an egg, just not. Chicken egg. IMO.

Fair enough. We'd then have to get into the semantics of what is considered a chicken, whether you mean the current animal we're used to dealing with, or the ancient dinosaur type.

So the question is less "what came first" but rather "what is a chicken? And why did it cross the road"
