- Nobody said you couldn't have your own opinion... Don't take it so personally
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com03-08-09 09:46 AMLike 0 - i too caught a show last night of watchmen and as everyone has already mentioned, it was alright. Before i actually seen the movie, i received mixed reviews and of course i had to see it for myself to determine what side i would lean toward. Personally, i would not go as far to say it was better than dark knight BUT that is my opinion, so i respect them individual that thought it was.
Now on to Malin...
She looked real good last night. She gets a thumbs up from me..03-08-09 10:06 AMLike 0 - I think we've been dumbed down as an audience to expect 90% action 10% dialogue from our movies. When a movie deviates from that we rush to say that it was too long or boring. I really liked watchmen. I liked that it took the extra time to explain the characters and show their background.
I thought the ending could've been a little better. I never followed the series so I don't know if the ending followed the story or not.

Like jdoc said, it was a very artsy graphic novel so you have to go into the theatre with that in mind. Its not going to be your typical super hero movie that moves at a fast pace and has loads n' loads of fight sequences.03-08-09 12:12 PMLike 0
- not taking it personally but it's funny how you call out someone who does not share your own opinion. If anything, your the one who might take it personally.03-08-09 12:20 PMLike 0
- 1 2 MaNy - He's talking to me . I'm not getting offended. I came on here to tell people the movie sucked. So not everybody agrees... Well there were people that liked that Nacho Libro movie or w.e Jack Black the ****** was in... You wonna go watch that dreck? Go nuts. I thought I was doing you a favour... Don't post in off-topic if you can't stand criticism.
Wongs right. There should be more than 4 action scenes in a 3 hour movie... A 3 hour "Action" movie...
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com03-08-09 06:22 PMLike 0 - If you watch the trailers...it was never billed as an action movie... I think that as a "superhero movie" that might be the expectation. I remember my dad complaining about the first Batman movie with Michael Keaton in it being not enough action. I was about 15 I think... Or the Lord of the Rings being too long... I like when a movie is true to it's creative roots, and I still can't peg why this movie disappointed me, even though I liked pretty much everything about it. And you people can drool all day about Malin Ackerman... Laura Mennell... oh my! Coulda seen a lot more of her IMAO.03-08-09 06:33 PMLike 0
- Are you kidding? Katy Perry Mmmm. Now she's a hottie...
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com03-08-09 06:41 PMLike 0 - I saw this one today. It was ok, wish I could get my 9 bucks back. And what was up with the blue' guys dongle all over the place? I didn't think it was literally "watchmen"

- Oh we're back onto the Watchmen? I thought we were still talking about Katy Perry .
And you only paid 9 bucks for it? Dam! I shelled out almost 12
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com03-08-09 09:43 PMLike 0 - I just got out of the theatre and I must say it was really quite good. Very artsy (in true Alan Moore style) and well put together. I liked the soundtrack as well. Especially the slow motion introduction with Bob Dylan playing in the background. The only part I hated was having to see Dr. Manhattan's blue, glowing weiner in every other shot. ...... C'mon doc, put some clothes on!!!03-08-09 11:18 PMLike 0
- I loved Silk Spectre she was amazing. But sum scenes in this movie made it look like porn... (The sex scene between the hawk guy and silk)
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com03-09-09 12:42 AMLike 0 - I havent read the novel, but I have read about the Watchmen and I get the storylin. I didnt go see the movie yet but its hurting me to hear so many ppl diss this movie the way that they do. I know that I will enjoy it because I like to actually THINK and from the positive reviews I havbe heard its definately something that will appeal to me visually. Now I know Snyder was trying to stay as true to the novel as possible because of who he is but it sounds to me like he probably should have cut back on how much of Dr. Manhattan is seen in the film. I get how hes this transcendant being and above clothing but the blue tighties may have helped the film out a bit. Ill report back on what I think once ive actually seen the film. I may read the graphic novel this week and catch the movie over the weekend. Havent decided yet03-09-09 08:55 AMLike 0

I watched the movie this weekend; and let me tell you that for those that did not like it...it is simply because this type of movie/storyline is not their cup of tea; it isn't because the movie itself isn't good. I suggest for everyone to read the synopsis of Watchmen; or even read the graphic novel before watching the movie...it will make a world of difference in understanding and appreciating the movie. I don't think any movie that is adapted from a book, novel, comic book can TRULY do the source justice...and this movie is no exception to that.
One reason I have always been drawn to comic books...is that they contain immense symbolism that doesn't necessarily have to be just A SET of symbolism that is cut and dry...comic books usually provide the setting for the person reading them to attach their own symbolism to the story itself. For example some people feel that their are tones of religious symbolism in Watchmen's storyline...God, Jesus, Son of God, Trinity, God-complex, Lucifer, etc.
I enjoyed the movie and it is a praise-worthy effort for being an adaptation of a comic/graphic novel that many thought could not possibly be made into a movie.03-09-09 09:46 AMLike 0
