    I was remembering Sesame Street and wasn't there a girl getting dressed by her mother and she pulled these ugg boots over her normal boots.
    It was for the extreme cold she waa getting dressed to go outside to go to school. It was the innuit(sp) people.
    Guess its from these people the fashion started.

    Exactly! I don't care about fashion trends. I just wear them under jeans (not tucked in) for the sole purpose of keeping my cold feet warm. I am always cold, so I have to wear lots of layers.

    I get a new pair every winter because I wear them the way you are supposed to - without socks - and after keeping them clean all winter, I just feel better getting a fresh new pair in Nov-Dec.

    I'm from nyc and I love my north face, they are so warm and light weight. I love uggs as well, I'm not a trend follower but they are super warm. (Side note) I can never understand why women wear uggs with minis, it doesn't make any sense. If its cold enough to wear uggs, its to cold for a mini
