    Hi,

For those of you who prefer Blackberries over touchscreen devices, which of these would you say is a more important factor in usability?

    A. Being able to type accurately (physical keyboard)

    or

    B. Being able to move the cursor accurately, and make accurate selections (trackpad/trackball, arrow keys)

I've suffered with a touchscreen-only device for well over a year now, and I'm starting to feel that B is more important to me than A. Unfortunately, all the newer Blackberries, even those with real keyboards, seem to have dispensed with the trackpad and arrow entirely.

Can't you just use the keyboard when typing and the touchscreen when you want to move to a new section?

Hmmm... I have a BlackBerry and it's a touch screen, not sure how to respond!

I had the 9900 and loved the trackpad for accurate selection. I now have both the Z10 and Q10. I find I'm faster on the Z10 (typing) but make more mistakes, even with the predictive text. With the Q10 I am still fast but slower than the Z10 and more accurate. I do miss the trackpad for accurate selection. I don't find the circle selector (touch only) to be as good. There is even a trackpad app for those of us who miss it! You type your text in the given field then 'share' with the desired output e.g. text, BBM, etc. My 2c.

Not sure if you mean me, but I'm well aware of the Bolds (I've got my eye on the 9930, if I can find a cheap enough one online). As far as I know, all the new-generation BBs (Q10 etc.) have shifted all the cursor/selection functions onto the touchscreen.
