In a time where movie's such as INGLORIOUS BASTARDS make hating the Nazi's fun and trendy-

It's easy to forgot the positive things our country has taken from Nazi Germany.

    Such as welfare.

Likening Obama to Hitler isn't meant to be taken at face level.

It's supposed to be a smack in the face.

Just as that article stated, Germany in WWII is a sign of Humanity's Dark Potential-

    Of what we could be.

Hitler didn't become the Germanic-Juggernaut that he was in a matter of seconds.

    Everything starts somewhere.

    Meh.

This will be turned into a mud slinging fest in 2.5 seconds flat.

One lied and led, the other is preserving and maintaining.

    Which is worse?

Drop it, and continue with the Anti-Human propoganda-

Because that's what this is all about at the core.

    Humans are bad.

The Nazi's aren't the first and only ones to commit heinous atrocities.

They're just the first ones that come to mind-

Because they were the pretty blonde, blue eyed people led by that ugly duckling.

Couldn't agree more. If anything, the first, real holocaust happened over a
number of years when 300 million native Americans were killed and probably
had horrible things done to them. Then after that the people that did those
things put up a "Thou shall not steal" sign.

    Lest we forget:

I'll not post the image, the link should suffice.

    http://tonterias.com/data/200302/3444_Bush_hitler.jpg

And since you're posting a slanted story, with a false premise, twisted from historical fact, need I remind you, the Nazi references began with the illustrious and debonair Speaker of the House, who called those who are against their proposed socialist 'Health Care' reform Nazis.

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/weblo...ons-swastikas/ .

And of course, the slavering lapdogs of the media had a predictable Pavlovian reaction, fueled by incidents like this:

theblogprof: BUSTED!: "Obama As Hitler" Poster Was A Democrat/Union Plant At John Dingell Townhall! UPDATED with video interview!

    Or this:

Fake hate crime alert: Leftists vandalize Denver Democrat HQ; Dems smeared Obamacare foes - Blogrunner

And, of course, there are the LaRouche loons screaming at certain Congressmen and women, likening them to Hitler, and the folks on CNN, NBC, ABC, etc., calls them conservatives. How amusing, as Lyndon LaRouche is a socialist. Oops.

And finally: Nazi. National Socialism. A philosophy that the government knows better how to run your life. Do not think, we'll take care of you. So labeling Conservatives Nazis is like calling a scooter a Mercedes. Not even close.
Consevatives believe in the rights of the individual, socialists, the rights of the state.

And what is the overwhelming emotion of socialism? FEAR

The only thing socialism delivers equally is fear, with a side garnishing of misery.

So, before posting the 'truth' about Nazis, make sure you know your right from your left.

And if you agree with this statement"From each according to his means, to each according to his needs," congrantulations!
    You agree with Karl Marx.

The well of need will forever be supplied by the means to provide, but you take away the means, there will be 2 empty wells, not one.

Do you, fellow CBer, get your paycheck, and go around to your neighbors and give them extra money every week, to make sure they have a little more?

Why do you want government to do that for you?

And are you gonna work harder so that you can have it taken from you? I bet you don't.

Nazism spread by great acclaim, see how happy ze people are?

That's the image everyone saw. It had to be the truth, right? That's what the newsreels said. What the radio said. But who controls ze news?

Enjoy ze Kool-Aid, it tastes good, ja? Come here, take a nice shower.

And remember, all that is required for evil to flourish is for good men and women to by and do nothing.

    And. Never. Forget

    Arbeit mach frei.

prada is correct. Human kind has been ugly for eternity. The first holocaust would have been the extermination of the Neanderthal. And there are a myriad of examples from there. Beast makes an excellent point himself though. We have been lead as sheeple to believe one side is evil in politics today. And far to often the liberals use their own, to make the conservatives look bad. This country got off track from the original intent of the Constitution, almost from it's very institution. But we stayed fairly on course until Teddy Roosevelt, and the inception of the Progressive movement. We've had changes towards Socialism, and stepped back many times since. Right now, we are heading down the tracks as fast and furious as possible. We the people are responsible for ourselves. That is the liberty Franklin spoke of we would give up for security. The Federal Government has neither the Constitutional right, nor the G_d given talent to run a healthcare program, save a mismanaged business, operate a lending institution, or most other programs they have started over the years. Limited government provides the people with freedom, and the ability to find their own prosperity. The more bloated it becomes, the more it will stifle and kill us. And yet here we are, as the rest of the world runs from Socialism, as a failed experiment, asking not what we can do for our country, but what our country can do for us.

Since we are quoting the Huffington Post, let me give you an article that will point out how our country came to the belief in Capitalism over Socialism.

A brief political history of the start of Jamestown, America's first settlement.

The world has gone down the toilet. It's pretty sad when I am afraid to openly admit I'm from the States while in Europe for fear of my own safety.

I vote for Bob Dole or Ross Perot!

Edit: The US should look to France or Norway for advice. Their quality of living so surpases ours it is not even funny. I plan on permenantly moving to Norway in the somewhat near future. I was at my happiest there. Clean healthy country, excellent healthcare, non abusive police, quality of living that surpases the US in all points.

References to Nazis and Hitler are included (as the article stated); however.."socialism" is another word/ideology/construct that haphazardly becomes attached to the approach and stance taken by Obama on a plethora of issues.

It's rather sad and deceivingly convenient how people rely on others to do the research for them via news organizations, talking heads, radio, print, television, blogs, etc....instead of delving into facts and deriving knowledge out of those facts on their own.

Also..going back to the article posted by the OP regarding how people tie Nazis/Hitler into Obama; as has been recently seen at townhall meetings and such regarding healthcare reform..I don't think the VAST MAJORITY of the people who make this Nazi/Obama correlation truly do so because of his views on healthcare reform. I think these people are simply using the healthcare reform arena as a ruse/channel to vent their real reason for making such a ghastly comparison and exhibiting such anger...it is because many still can't swallow the fact/reality that an African-American is the President of The United States of America.

First off, the whole obama to hitler or the joker in batman thing isn't supposed to be taken literally, but i'm not intellectual enough to put to words what they exactly mean by it. also, whether most know it or not, the whole 'perfect race' thing didn't start in Germany, we also were very big into it at the time. It was here as well, we just didn't get to the point of slaughtering everyone, we just shunned them. and regardless of what anyone says (though i do not agree with his actions) Hitler was arguably the best leader of all time.

I do not refute the definition of socialism (albeit there is no concise, cut and dry definition of it). The reason there is no concise definition of it is because a large part of whether something is socialism or not...is to see if 'socialism' as it is drawn up as an ideology; is the true intent of the person applying variables of such an ideology.

I didn't ask you to refute the definition, though it is very clear. You took umbrage to my post, and references to Socialism within. I would like you to defend your word, and refute mine.
