sorry i almost pulled an all nighter

I'm back! Sort of.

So I had my thyroidectomy surgery between noon and about 4 on Thursday. All was well, I was out of it but fine...and then as I was about to fall asleep around 9 that night (in the hospital still, of course), the drainage tube felt weird, and I looked down and there was blood everywhere, dripping down my chest, etc...and my neck was very hard, puffy, swollen.......I rang in the nurses and panicked (my fiance had gone home for the night; needless to say, he came back quick), and they had to call back my surgeon for emergency surgery, to reopen me and drain it all out, close me back up again and make sure all was well.
I was so out of it.....my poor fiance didn't get any rest, just standing there over my bed as I dozed in and out, making sure I was breathing, etc......they had me on oxygen and calming meds, I was so loopy I don't even remember most of it. I just remember feeling nauseous and like I was going to pass out, and not even having the energy to cry.

The drainage tube now has to stay in til Monday. I came home early yesterday afternoon. I'm on hydrocodone and some other stuff, start my thyroid replacements Tuesday........I'm sleepy and still pretty "out of it" but am doing much better. At this point I'm just looking forward to being able to stretch the sore, tight muscles in my neck, and maybe sleep lying down flat. And just getting back to life as normal.

I also weighed myself and seem to have put on about 7-8 lbs since Thursday. O_o. My fiance thinks it's water weight from all the fluid IVs they had me on. I really hope so. My clothes don't feel tighter.
I *just* lost almost 20 lbs so I hope this isn't a warning of what's to come.
Oh well.

So...........I'm alive. And that's awesome. Heh.
