Hi everyone! I work for a city government and the cops aren't happy - all overtime has been cancelled. If that means running short staffed, that's what they do. Citizens aren't complaining - no one wants to pay more taxes to make up for the drop in sales tax that comes with a recession. Vicious circle.

Not too much. Thanks, they are well cared for; and extremely spoiled. One of them is having some health problems right now which sucks but he's pulling through.

They get to run around in our spare room for a few hours a day. We can't let em run free throughout the house because of the dog. She thinks they are play toys.

Dang, I always thought they were myself. The dog doesn't play nice with them? I'd think it would be more out of concern for the trouble that would ensue.

She doesn't play nice with any animals. We're working on socializing her with other dogs and that is coming along nicely so maybe in the future they'll play together. We've tried putting them together before but she took a snap at them. She behaves when they are in their cage and she is sniffing at them but when they are out of the cage she wants to pick them up in her mouth like she does her chew toys.

As far as the trouble, whenever they are out of their cage and outside of the room they are either being held, on their leash, or someone is keeping a very close eye on them to make sure they don't get into something that they shouldn't.

What kind of puppy do you have? She'll probably always want to pick them up, as long as she's gentle, that shouldn't be a problem. I had a Doberman/Shepard mix that did that with the cat all the time. And raised a squirrel he rescued, that he would also pick up and carry around. Dang I miss that dog!

We have a German Shepard. We adopted her from the SPCA when she was almost a year old and apparently she came from a home where she was neglected. We had a lot of problems with her at first but she's come a long way since we got her.

They almost always will come around, given enough love. You get her hip checked? That can be a real issue later, knowing it's coming you can adjust her diet to help prevent it from getting bad too soon. I personally can't say enough good things about Nutro. The change it made in my dogs coats, and health was significant.
