Isn't that convenient. The system they suck the life out of you to pay for makes sure you can't use it when needed.

OMFG... My stupid PC's been doing more updates, and it's gotten to the point where the computer is unusable. I can no longer access the internet from my PC, nor can I get the restore to remove the recent updates. So I throw the OS disk in to start a reformat. I get the key off the back of my legal OS, and it says it's not recognized. So I type it in again and keep checking it. I can't reformat my stupid PC! So I go on the Microsoft website to get their phone number (on my Mac ofcourse) and call them. So it costs $59.99 an hour to talk to a technician. Or $299.99 or whatever to order Windows 7... Whata you know?!?!

Anybody got key generating software for Vista Home Basic? I'm going to reformat it and sell it. I'm pretty mad right now, but I'm glad it held out until I got my Mac. If I had to wait 2 weeks for my Mac to get here when I don't have a computer, I'd go nuts.

Sorry B_S, not me. Have you tried any Microsoft support forums?
I had a problem awhile ago, and thats where I found the answer.

Oooooh, you'll like this: Do a search, noob! Hahahahaahhaha.

It beats spending money to fix something you don't need.

I'm sick of it I don't want to spend any more time or money on it. Now it's time to put this Mac to the test. It's gotta take on the movie downloading job now that my PC's outta the picture.

This was my biggest problem with them. Now if I stuck it out with my PC, I'd be without a computer right now... And why? You call them up for help and all they want is more money. I spent $300 on Vista! Why do I have to pay for something that shouldn't be messing up in the first place?

BIOS Wolfy? I'm not the best with computers. As you might beable to tell from mine no longer working I don't know what else to do. It needs to be reformatted, there's no way of fixing it online. And I'm sure as heck not buying a $100 anti-virus for it

Lol, Norton.... Virus makers are probably laughing their but off. Why give him a viruses, Norton will mess it up enough for him Lags the computer at an unreal rate. Then it gets something that keeps shutting it off... That was Norton 2007 I think. It screwed with all of our computers at the time. Then the tech guy at my moms work said it sucks, and use mcafee Cost us $70 for Norton.....

Brad, I was just thinking... You scour the Internet, downloading movies from multiple sites. It's not really a surprise that your pc would become infested with worms, trojans, spyware or who knows what.

Do you have any kind of anti-virus software on your computer?

If you visit any 'adult' sites, that would easily double your risk of compromising your pc.

I am mistrustful of anything on the Internet that's too good to be true.
    Nothings free.

Always nice when you don't remember a meal.

I noticed ESET didn't use Vipre in the comparison Laura. You might want to test drive it next renewal. They offer 30 days free, and it's cheaper than ESET too.

I have two friends who are Network Administrators and both recommend ESET.

How is Vipre in terms of slowing down the PC? ESET is very lightweight.

Vipre is also no drag on the system, even when in the process of a full scan. I found them when I had a virus while using Norton, and it has been great ever sense.
