In all seriousness though, she started middle school - 7th grade - today. All last week she was nervous about it, but it was all for nothing; she said she had a very good day, except for when they made her take her earrings out in gym. Her mom has to write a note to the teacher about that because she can't put them in herself; every time she does she ends up fainting for some reason.

Yeah, I know. If anyone else puts them in for her she's fine but when she does it herself she passes out. You would think if that was going to be her reaction it would happen either way but it doesn't. The first time it happened we thought it was because she hadn't eaten dinner the night before and her mom took her to the doctor just to be safe. The doctor said she was fine and it very well may have happened because she didn't eat. But then it happened again a few days later while she was changing her earrings and we put two & two together and figured out what it was.

I'm with Bernie and Beast. That's something I'd never heard of. There must be something that triggered the response she has. It must be frustrating for her, and further increase the stress of taking them out. Poor kid.

She can take them out just fine. It's only when she puts them in. I had never heard of that happening either until it happened to her. It's kind of odd.

She's had them since Christmas of last year. Since the first time she tried changing the earrings herself, yes.

I actually installed it on my PC a little bit ago and am about to do the upgrade. I'm going through and removing stuff right now.
