Well, I won't have it continue on indefinitely! No way, no how!!! I feel awful taking anything I didn't work for. I was unemployed before and never collected unemployment. This was a step for me, but I know that jobs are less available this time. Ugh. It's an awful feeling...but hopefully this won't last more than another week

That's for sure ex, I'm a Libertarian, but don't agree with all they stand for either. The only party I totally agree with is the one in my mind. Hey everyone. Nice place.

No wonder why people suck off the system. My fiance and I are both unemployed now, and collecting unemployment. We're actively seeking work...and I mean actively. Neither of us like this sitting on our asses thing.
However, this is the rather sick part:
Between the two of us, unemployment will give us $3,148 per month.

Now, let's pretend I'm an all-too-common beyotch who's young, unemployed, and has a child in tow that was from a former boyfriend. So, I'd be getting food stamps on top of that, and of course, some poor b@$+@rd would be paying child support on top of that. Now, on top of THAT, I know a girl I *used to* call a friend who's been on Social Security since she's been 18. Why? Because she has "bipolar disorder."
And of course, let's not forget that the state offers special housing that's free or low-cost to certain individuals.

So, really. No wonder why there are so many people who live the life, getting handout after handout, never working, never being responsible, and who end up being able to afford designer clothes and handbags and a yearly vacation.

Duuuude.

I know how you feel. I'm currently out on unemployment after getting fired for "no longer having a passion for my job" and have been actively looking for a job with no success. I even applied at some local fast food chains for something until I can find a good, stable job and even they are not hiring. And it really sucks because the 250 a week they say I'm eligible for isn't going to pay the bills.

Then we have much common ground. I am a also a history buff, lol. I just started a book about the presidency. It is interesting how Washington, and confidants such as Jay, did so much to define the presidency, and presidential power from such a sketchy description of the position drawn in the constitution. Fascinating reading.
I do not believe in socialism or fascism, and communism has been proven an awful system. But, and here is where we may separate, unregulated capitalism is as ugly a system as any I've already mentioned. Maybe we can have some rousing good arguments in the future.
