My Mom's was only $70, and she lives in a house. Her gas bill was $130.

My electric bill for my apartment was $20. My gas bill was $85.

That's not too bad. I too live in the sticks like Timmy. Gas would be expensive to heat up my house.

My electric bill was $300.00 last month.

Ouch! My electric bill averages around $100/month and propane runs me around $200/month during winter when I need to run the furnace. The furnace is all that runs on propane. It would be significantly higher but I've been keeping the thermostat around 60 and using a space heater in individual rooms as needed.

Doubt I'll do anything fun besides work. Everything is expensive nowadays :/

Good timmy otherwise I'll have to find lassie. Again!

Yeah, that crazy dog, never around when needed, such a slacker.

Everything is pretty costly. We need to find you some fun cheap alternatives...

I also cannot tolerate well water, propane heat, and especially lack of broadband Internet.

    Holy crap!
I only have a 600sq ft apt, so it's not a fair comparison, but my electric bill (gas and water are part of the rent) was $15 last month.

I don't pay for water. I have my own gas furnace, so I do pay gas bills. My rent for a 1 bedroom is $360/month.

I don't even know how to cook on an electric range. I've never used anything except gas.

I couldn't live in the sticks. I'd die of boredom.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com
There's always something to do but you've got to be more outdoorsy and stuff for it to be entertaining though. I could never live in a city. Too many people, too much noise, and if I were to walk out of my house and fire a weapon, chances are it will have been in self defense. lol

Electric range isn't terrible but I've used both and do prefer gas. When I remodel the kitchen I'll probably get one of the newer gas range/electric oven dealies.

Is it gas or electric heat? Is the apartment interior and not top floor? If so then it definitely benefits from other folks' around you heating your space too. Haha

One of the apartment advantages over single family dwellings.

Septic isn't a bad system if you pick products that are septic friendly, don't use a garbage disposal, and so forth. Chances are you'd be paying almost the same in sewer costs if you were connected to a city's sewer system, over the length of time it has been since the septic was last pumped.

Sewer bills and water bills are not something I have to pay. I only pay gas, electric, and Internet. I used to have CaTV but canceled it. I have a Netflix subscription and also watch online TV.

I don't mind living by myself. I've been by myself for 18 years. At this point it would probably feel weird having somebody else living with me.
