[rant] Gah! Why don't any carrier's offer low minute plans anymore? Seriously? This past month we only used 171 minutes, the month before that only 77, and prior to that only 149. I don't need a 750 minute plan and that's the lowest T-Mo, and most others, offer If it weren't for data/messaging and being locked into a contract for another year I'd switch to prepaid.

I'm seriously paying money for minutes that never, ever get used and it is such a waste.[/rant]

Good question. I use more data and SMS than minutes.

I use more data than minutes. I have a 450 minute plan (vzw), and don't usually come close to it. But it's my primary phone, so I don't want to cut it back too much because I still need to have some time just incase, with no other phone...

The only reason I haven't cut my minutes (1400 on family plan) is because my mom, who has a regular cell phone, uses a lot of minutes. Most of the A List numbers are folks she calls, not folks I call.

She is not interested in SMS or data. She is retired and does not even use or care to use a PC. Smartphones have no appeal to her.

I do too and it is so frustrating. Things are tight right now and looking at that just makes me more upset about it.

AT&T has a 550 (i think that's the amount) family plan for 59.99 but add data for two lines (because I know my fiancee will get a phone that requires data also) & a messaging plan and we're paying just as much, if not more than we are now.

Verizon's lowest family plan is 700 minutes.. so that would be too much also. If we do switch it'll be to AT&T. They are more prominent around here than both T-Mo & VZW. I've only seen one T-Mo & VZW store since moving here but there are tons of AT&T stores and most of the people I work with have AT&T as their carrier.

It'd be nice if our T-Mo contract expired now instead of next March so that we had the option to swith carriers if we could find a less expensive one.
