Here's a pic of 'Bum Wing' Bernice, the injured pigeon who may or may not be a female. (I'm not interested in checking).

That's a Bernie, Brian. He has the iridescent feathers about his neck that the female lacks. His head is also rounded, where the female tends to be flattened. The pigeon has also been banded, which means there's a tracking number on his leg. The fact he seems to be relatively 'comfortable' tells me he probably has an owner. He may be a carrier pigeon that got loose.

Actually, it has a band on both legs. I wonder if it would freak out if I tried to read them? Although, it is pretty comfortable around me. It walks within a foot or two of my shoes and stares at me.
