All threads that have to do with teenagers, BlackBerry phones, and parenting turn into huge debates. It'll be locked up soon enough.

I don't have kids and am pretty much just beyond being a teenager but I agree that it is the parent's right to monitor their child's cell phone if they want to.

I love the ones that say "if someone doesn't trust me than they don't deserve my honesty." Really? How the heck do they know that the parent hasn't given the kid chance after chance to prove they are trustworthy?

I try to avoid those threads anymore when they pop up because of how heated they get.

I think it is interesting to hear all those points of view. I am a parent, and far from perfect. It is nice to know how others handle situations I might encounter or have encountered. I don't pass judgement on any ones parenting skills. I think threads like that give us a window into both sides. Mmmmm I wish it wasn't closed.

I knew this area was bad but I didn't realize it was that bad. Multiple homicides and attempted homicides a year. I even read an article from a few years ago about a man that shot & killed another man over a gold chain!

No wonder the cops patrol the streets as much as they do.

I don't think I'll ever be going outside in the dark by myself again.
