I went through my contacts and cleaned up/deleted any typos or special characters that outlook might have trouble interpreting.
That did the trick.
As I'm typing this I'm doing something I haven't done in years.
Listening to music with headphones (this thing is an iPod too after all).
I'd forgotten how much better music sounds with headphones. I can hear every instrument, every guitar lick, every drum beat.

Sorry I've been absent all day... I've been reading. Finally finished the first book and I'm now halfway through the second one. I am going to finish these, but in my opinion the show is much better. Yes, there are things in the original plot that are gone but they replaced them with situations that are more interesting and hold your attention better.
I like that they made Damon such a prominent character from the very first episode. In much of the first book he isn't anything but a crow and a mentioned feeling of being watched. The conflict between him & Stefan from the get-go in the TV show makes it that much better.
I do like the way Elena found out that he was a vampire though, in the book. That would have been interesting to see on screen, but I also love the way she just confronts him on the show.
Ok... I'll shut up about that now.
