Chlorine mixes with ammonia to form other more deadly compounds, chloramines which disrupt the cellular walls of organisms to kill them. That's why it was so effective in water treatment where we have many ammonia compounds in the waste water. However, we now do such a good job removing organic matter (and it's nitrogen by-products such as ammonia) that chlorine isn't as effective as a disinfectant. As a result of this we are moving toward UV disinfection methods. The draw back there is we don't have on the spot tests that can tell us how well it is working so we have to shoot for overkill.

Yeah, but bleach isn't as bad as handling gas. We went to using 14% bleach solution instead of the ton gas cylinders for safety. As one who was a room when a fusable plug failed on a tank, I was all for the change.

Eh, it wasn't that long. 10-3 an hour break and then 4-8:30 (scheduled till 9). It was nothing compared to the 15/16 hour days I was working somewhere else.

Gluteus Maximus, with practice you'll get it. Best thing to do, go to an empty parking lot, and practice starting off without the gas pedal. Once you have the feel for that without stalling, then start to use the gas some.

Heal to toe would be pretty tricky to teach without being there. But I think my suggestion will help you a bunch. See if there's a mall nearby, and go long before it's open.
