We can have snowstorms as soon as mid Sept. My daughter was born in a snowstorm on Sept 27, 1996. My place is at 6400 feet above sea level so it can get really cold or really hot this time of the year.
Unfortunately we don't have fish is our pond. It depends on a natural spring for it's water and so the level varies according to the season - it dries up every couple years for a month or so in the winter. But it is pretty here - here's the view from behind the barn:

This has been a cold year for us. Only maybe a week and a half or so in the mid 80s+ for highs. Usually all of August is pretty stifling with plenty of humidity even.
I've never been to any mountains although will have to make time to check some out and get some photos one of these days. Maybe a Jeep trip out west some day.

It was some good fun.
. I have deer and elk at my pond all the time. Of course it also attracts a mountain lion every once in a while.
