It doesn't really hurt... I just don't like the idea of a needle sticking in a vein draining a half litre of blood out
They send you a card with your blood type on it if you go to donate. I already roped my parents and a friend to donate in august

We were going to get Melissa a bunny for her birthday this past year, but her parents feel she's still too young for that kind of responsibility. She's been begging her mom to let her get a kitten from a friend of hers that has some for free, but her mom said no "cause the dog will kill it."
The dog is fine with the ferrets, so I think she would be ok with a cat; Melissa's (and Steve's) mom hates cats, which is the real reason she won't let her have one.
Brad, why was your blood donation useless? .... Usually the only reason that happens here in the states is if they find some sort of disease in your blood.... (I'm not implying that you have something, just interested to hear why they wouldn't use your donated blood if you are healthy.)

I can only donate this blood to other AB+'s. And AB types can accept every type of blood. So if another AB goes into a hospital, they can take whatever they got the most of. They don't need their own blood type. That's why I'm looking at donating something else.
Was hoping for O. I think you can give everybody(regardless of their type) this kind of blood. So you know full well that type will get used up

That is kind of interesting. I know not too long ago they were looking for people in St. Louis, I think, with ABsomething blood type to donate because there was a shortage or something like that.
I gave blood once, but they never did tell me my blood type.

might have been AB-. I think they're different. Or B-, they're extremely rare. I think there's 2.5% of people with the same as me. I think there's only 0.5% of B-.Ahh. Ok. I never knew that.
