Yes, the surgery was off as an immediate necessity. He will require surgery since it's a hernia, which means there's a tear in the muscle and the intestine is sticking through. Yummy. So they'll have to put some mesh or something in there to keep the intestine from continually falling out.

And he's fine. He's currently out cold on the couch. I may join him soon.
