There was a time years ago that I had a tornado hit one street over from my home. 2 hours later shingles were still falling from the sky. Being young and single I lived in a trailer as well. That did scare the badonkadonk out of me.

For years after everytime I heard thunder my stomache would instantly hurt. That started really pi$$ing me off.

So being pi$$ed at myself for being so scared, I started going outside and driving in the severe weather. The fear got better when I finally figured that when my hour comes I will have no other choice than to accept it.

I can live until I can not! I prefer to live with a comfortable stomache.

My 11 year old daughter did however commission me to stay up and keep us "safe".

Yesterday, there was a storm moving in and my neighbor and I were out in my garage watching the rain. The rain got harder and the lightning moved in, so we were enjoying it. Then, lightning hit close. Seemed like the end of the street, but it's tough to tell. We both jumped and she screamed. I was like "OK, time to close the garage door!" Good times!!!

Got quite a few storm stories to tell, living in Florida my whole life. When it comes to lightning, I learned to respect it's power when after a 4 hour soaking, lightening hit the melaleuca tree across the street. For those of you fortunate enough to not know, melaleuca trees are like a sponge. They are referred to as paper trees, because their bark is very soft and can be torn off in huge sheets. That sucker, in the middle of the driving rain, lit up like a Christmas Tree, and proceeded to burn to the ground in less than 5 minutes. It was an amazing sight to behold!

Yeah Jeff, ex has seen them. He's just never figured out what to do with them.

We had a lightning strike that hit my neighbor's yard (across the street) and on the other side if the yard the gas main broke and started shooting up flames. Crazy sight at 2 AM as I was getting up for work!
