I used to clean apartments that looked something like this as a summer job. None of them were quite this bad though.

Why you really can't call a person a pig, it's an insult to pigs!!

Due to the formatting on the page, you will need to scroll down a little to see the first picture. And it is pretty nasty.

Humans seem to be able to adapt to anything I guess. Bet the people that lived there, didn't invite a lot of people over (more than once anyway). And I'd guess you just get used to it. But I really don't see how myself.

Bear a few years back we had a fire call in what had to be the
nastiest house ever. There were huge roaches everywhere. Walls,
counters, furniture etc. I don't know what the bug was, but one
was so big, it fell from the ceiling, hit the cable box and the
channel on the TV changed. I threw my effin radio at that
    thing, backed my crew out.

I guess it didn't want to walk across the floor to get to the remote. That or it found a clean spot on the ceiling was stunned for a few seconds and let go.

I noticed in the pictures of the living room, that on the table with all the drink cups there in a small fire extinguisher. With all those cigarettes buttts piled up around the couch, computer and I'm sure bed, it seems they knew that it was going to be a problem sooner or later with all the piles of boxes and bags piled up around them.

The poor landlord would just have to burn the place down and start over, forget sending a cleaning crew in there.

Dammit. I told the bookie I'd have his money by next week. He didn't have to stop by. The tv works just fine. Although I did ask him to clean the carpets sometime next week.

What gets me is there's a cat litter box. Why? And the walls seem clean, how'd they manage that?

Gotta have some place the cat feels safe to do his thing.
And the walls being clean in that place, that's easy, no place to place pizza boxes, drink cups or cigs... those places/spaces would stay cleaner. But with all the smoking that person did, I'm sure the ceiling was pretty yellowed in those areas.

Ah yes... crazy people. I guarantee you some guy like me has had that guy in 4 points and haldol at least once...

Sadly, there are some amazingly tragic stories. That house is clean compared to what I've had medics describe in a couple of cases...

When I read the title of this thread, I thought it was going to be like this tape my older Sister had by Redd Foxx called, "You gotta wash your A$$"

Lol. AG.. that is why I think FF's should be able to carry OTJ.

Yeah, I just suspect I'd have had to empty my entire mag on that bad boy.

I am not a neat freak by any stretch, but I could never wrap my mind around
how someone could sit in an environment and not think "You know, maybe
we should spruce up a bit"

Trust me, this is schizophrenic behavior. I'm sure any significant mental illness can make you neglect your environment, but to be semi-functional and rise to that level of neglect probably takes schizophrenia. At some point a manic depressive is going to at least clean the bathroom.
