I set the left key to do nothing, which just lights up the LCD when pressed. Nice for glancing at the time without looking to press one of the buttons on the front.

I use application switcher on the left.

my left key is set to profiles and my right one goes into options.
I use it to bring up the sound profiles. I like being able to switch from normal to silent/vibrate easily.
I have my left key set to clock, right key is camera. I like being able to change my alarm easily.

I take screenshots alot so I use the left key for "capture it"
FYI... Application switcher can be brought up by holding down on the BlackBerry button. Holding down on "Q" can set it to "vibrate only". Don't know if this has already been covered, just thought I'd share what I found while messing around with it. :)

well since theres no today themese yet my left is contacts my right is camera
Thanks for the tip. In previous OS versions, initiating the app switcher involved the alt button so this is a lot more convenient. My left convenience key is now messages.

left sound profile right contacts
+1
holding BB menu key for a second will now bring up switcher... as well as the two handed alt and back key from curve.
I have my left convenience key setup with qsms so I can quickly compose a text message. I didn't find a quick shortcut to compose a text from the sms inbox so I just set it to the convenience key.
I use mine for BBM.
Let us know what you end up deciding you'll assign to your left convenience key
Its because the right button has 2 stages. Pushing it half-way is used in the camera for focus
just a tip in case you didn't know. hold down Q and it sets your phone to vibe only
keyboard lock

Left one is for Mobile Network Options (so I can easily turn on/off Bluetooth) and right one is for Messages.
Left for SMS/MMS.
Right for Camera.
Quicklaunch all the way. That means that by pressing the left button, you then get a menu of all of your applications sorted as you like (including browser links etc) which you can quickly navigate through to run what you wanna run. You can also do this while in an application, thus making it fast and easy to switch applications. No more scrolling through icons trying to figure out what they mean lol!
Mine is for Managing connections... easy to access the bluetooth when I get into my car.
I also use mine for Quicklaunch. I have some tips that work on my 8900 and hope they also work on the tour.
Disable dial from home screen. This opens up the keyboard shortcuts which are:
A for contActs
M for Messages
N for blackberry messeNger
L for caLendar
U for calcUlator
T for tasks
C for Compose
B for Browser
O for Options
That's all I can think of right now. I also have qsms from berrycoder to allow easier sms sending.

And to disable dial from home screen press the send key, menu, then options. Select general. Set dial from home screen to no.

After reading this thread I installed QuickLaunch and man i'm glad I did. Its now assigned to my left convenience key
I use my left convenience key for UberTwitter
Well on my 8330 i would use it for profiles since the the profile icon could be hid. But now with the tour you have the dedicated icon in the upper left corner. So now i am debating to switch it something else. Decisions, Decisons!!
