Mine goes on my nightstand where it charges next to the ipod, the bluetooth headset, and the DS. Occasionally I've been known to fall asleep while texting and woken up with it wedged between my head and pillow.

I sleep with my berry right beside my bed, when I wake up in the night I always check it, and if my girl also wakes she'll say something like "put that thing down!" or "say good night to your blackberry!"

Both sleep next to me in the phone only mode. I use one for the alarm so I can be on time to go to work. And like others who have posted, I need to be available 24 x 7, plus my personal BB is also my home phone. Now that should be the next topic of discussion.

My Blackberry sleeps, right next to me on the other side of my pillow... I use my Blackberry for one of my alarms in the morning and the gentle vibration (lol) throughout the bed initally wakes me up then I hear the loud annoying RRR RRR RRR...lol because that has a better shot of waking me up faster.

BTW it has yet to fail to activate the alarm when I set it... :-)

No, I feel the same way. This morning, I didn't have to get up for work, but I got up when my husband got up so I could get it off the charger and put it next to me. I had to check email, etc to get with the program for the day!
