Three Hempstead Village men face a court arraignment Wednesday after they used a 12-gauge shotgun to rob a man of his Blackberry and his wallet, the Nassau police said.
The police arrested the trio shortly after the Monday night robbery on Front Street and Hendrickson Avenue in Hempstead, and they also retrieved the shotgun, detectives said.
Blair Kearse, 19, and Yosef Khalik, both of 111 Pierson Ave.; and Kevin Powell, 28, of 157 East Marshall St., were charged with first-degree robbery and criminal use of a firearm.
The three robbed a Hempstead man, 20, at around 11:20 p.m. Monday then drove off in a silver BMW, the police said.
First Precinct police officers Joseph Lobello and Darin Costello arrested the suspects at a Sunoco Gas Station at Grand Avenue and Baldwin Road a short time later. The officers approached the BMW and made the arrest without incident, recovering the shotgun.
The victim was not injured.
Kearse, Khalik and Powell will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead, on Wednesday.
