Picked up a new 16gb PlayBook today. Deal was too good to refuse. Updating at Sbux now.

Why would that upset anyone especially me when apparently I am responsible for yet another PB sale? RIM should really put me on commission.

I picked up a brand new 16GB last week also. Couldn't say to $200 off retail sealed in the box.

Not quite as good a deal as yours. $350 sealed. Not bad really. Now I can sit on it untill apps arrive.

BTW, new owners, the crackberry app isn't necessary. The web site works just fine but if you feel you need a crutch placebo it's there for you.

I posted an ad in kijiji to sell my 16GB PB, and the highest offer I got was $350. I decided not to sell it for now. So can I consider myself a new owner, like buying my own PB at $350?

Native pim was never an issue for me (search, you'll see). Its about apps & at this price I can afford to wait for those.

I trust this was not from a retailer.

Doesn't matter, Milt. There is demand and supply is being tapped. BTW, got yours yet?

I know. I figured everyone is on vacation now, September is probably a better time to sell. Hopefully there will be some kickass apps by then to boost the demand.

50/50 I hope. It's really too bad. By September the 9900 should be out (Bell) so at least I'll have something to look forward to.

I am not sure how much the WiFi PB will be worth once the LTE/3/4G models come...

I'd venture to say that the wifi units will sell for the same price they are commanding now seeing as how bridge capability makes them a steal of up to $360 a year at least on my data package.

I don't care for 3g/4g/lte so much that I was originally going to buy the XOOM but did not because they did not offer a wifi only model initially. Way before they did, the playbook caught my attention, as did the ipad2 but very briefly.

Oh this is where you argue that sales at 30-40% below retail pricing is a positive sign for PlayBook demand. This should be good.

I know exactly what you meant and responded accordingly. There is no argument that iOS enjoys market momentum despite the fact that it is an inferior product which is not an unprecedented phenomenon.

or maybe it does make sense since the ipad 2 is a better product in their opinion.
