    Weird question I know...

But say you have a 23'' PC monitor and a 23'' TV. Would they have different dimensions?

Like would the PC monitor be wider than the TV but not as high? Or would they be the same really?

Hope you get what I mean! Haha

Hmmm, it's just I've got a 19'' monitor at the moment (I think lol) and obviously it's got a PC running on it, but I'd like to put an Xbox on it too, but I don't want it to look weird because it's too wide or something if you get me?

I dont know weather to get a 23 inch TV or a 23 inch monitor, would prefer the monitor but don't want the Xbox to look odd on it!

i understand you don't understand my point.

tv with 1920x1080 pixels will have the same look as a monitor with 1920x1080. but monitors come in different resolutions, ie 1920x1080, 1920x1200 and higher resolutions in sometimes different aspect ratio.

remember that tv is better with moving pictures, the electronics are designed for that. monoitor is more often designed for sharper images and for text, different settings in the electronics. most gamers buy isp monitor with high refresh rates, but that comes with a price. most of the times a 27" is price wise best choice.
