Hey all. I don't know where else to put this so if I'm in the wrong section my bad lol. I'm a volunteer firefighter in a rural county and radio reception is spotty. I don't want to ruin my blackberry if I need a phone on scene and money is always an issue so I'm trying to think of my options. Does anyone know of a mil-spec rugged pre paid phone? Or have any other ideas? Thanks for your input.

Well because I'm posting from wap I can't see your carrier-but suggestion here-did you try calling your carrier to see what opts they have avail for a prepaid phone and then compare the price with what other carriers get for porepaids as well. I know verizon has "month to month" where there's no contract BUT I think the down fall of that is you pay a hefty penny for the cell phone itself. Verizon has one called the G'Zone which is sup'd to be rugged to drops-dust-and the elements ie.rain. But that's just an idea for ya-good luck!
