I heard there had been talk of a sequel to Mrs. Doubtfire. The guy could easily have done it again.
Yes he was great in that movie.

Robin Williams even made one of the most famous iPad commercials. Even though the sound wasn't the best quality, they used his voice directly from The Dead Poet Society rather than just re-record the words.

It was in the talk a few months ago. With Robin untimely passing I doubt it will happen. To recast his role will spell box office bomb.

The world is a little worse off tonight.

Williams was my favorite comedian; he could be wickedly funny without descending to meanness. He could improvise like nobody I've ever seen.

As an actor he worked his *** off. His voice of the genie in Aladdin was maybe the closest to the "real Robin", but he had a pretty respectable range of roles. Everyone remembers "Good Will Hunting" and "Dead Poets Society" (which were indeed great), but I also think he deserves to be remembered for less-known work like "Awakenings".

"What Dreams May Come" is one of my favorite movies, and Williams' performance was, for me at least, remarkable. His best work as an actor in a beautiful, ambitious movie.

    RIP Mr. Williams.

I remember his funny films. But on this sad occasion the roles he played that come to mind are his darker ones in One Hour Photo and Insomniac.

He also starred in the dark comedy World's Greatest Dad in which his son in the film dies by autoerotic asphyxiation. Somewhat strange considering his suicide was by asphyxiation.

Jonathan Winters, Lenny Bruce, Johnny Carson, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Andy Kaufman, John Belushi, Sam Kinison, John Candy, Rodney Dangerfield, Chris Farley, etc. I miss very much. Luckily I saw a couple of these greats live in Las Vegas and other venues.

Robin Williams you were one of the most unique spontaneous creative talents and I know you are amongst the greats for the greatest show for eternity. RIP for awhile and then give the good souls laughter...

I'm very saddened by the news. Just last week I sat and watched with my kids the movie Jumanji. They absolutely loved it.

One of my all time favourite movies with him in was Good Will Hunting but it's his stand up comedy that was the best. Such a shame, he's gone too soon. His demons caught up with him eventually

If you really want to honor Robin, support mental health help. In the US, most of our homeless are mentally ill (and veterans). Many mentally ill cannot hold jobs. And 25% of the current prison population are mentally ill. Or it may be your neighbor, coworker, or relative. We do a horrible job of getting help to our mentally ill and this must change. Especially when someone of Robin's status couldn't do it, there is little hope for the "common" person.

The final curtain closes on yet another great mind. Another man who learned the art of walking the fine line between insanity and brilliance. As he once said

"You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it".

Few of us ever get the opportunity to have the effect on as many other human beings as Robin did and he didn't waste a second of this chance. He amused, confused and entertained millions of people all around the world including myself and he will be sadly missed.

    Farewell and "God spede you".

The great performed in Iraq 6 times with the USO while other comedians would have never had the balls to do so or were basically against the war.

This man is truly the great one! Thank him for supporting our troops in a very difficult time.
