    Poor guy has been struggling with drugs and depression for years.....with his manic comedic style, it's not surprise where he hone his skills from. Many excellent comedians usually get their inspiration from their deep dark personal issues. His work will be miss.

    Love him Good Will Hunting and Mrs DoubtFire, Birdcage, The Fisher King and Good Morning Vietnam. Forever the original voice of Aladdin. I always enjoy him as a guest on the talk shows circuit. I'm not sure I'll able to rewatch his comedy movies without sensing the pain behind his works.

    Terribly sad to lose such an amazing man. I grew up watching his movies and he always made me laugh.

    From Watchmen:

    "I heard a joke once: Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life is harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world. Doctor says, "Treatment is simple. The great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go see him. That should pick you up." Man bursts into tears. Says, "But doctor... I am Pagliacci." Good joke. Everybody laugh. Roll on snare drum. Curtains."

    He made everyone else laugh but he was depressed. That makes me feel so sad for him.

    Yup. Sometimes brilliance goes hand-in-hand with a troubled mind.

    I'll miss him too; I never saw anything I didn't like him in, whether I liked the production or not.

    This is true...genius has a flip side. Too often the price of brilliance is one's mental health/stability.

    This news makes me sad. Another life ended far too soon.

    How terrible. He brought happiness and joy to so many.

    I recently watched "Hook" with my 7 year old son. It was the first time he had seen it, and he loved it.

    It's ironic that the last line of the film - spoken by Williams' character - is: "to live will be an awfully big adventure."

    Rest in peace, Robin Williams.
