i have the beltronics v995 and my boyfriend has the valentine one and i have to say that the valentine picks up more and the directional arrows are pretty spiffy but it also has way more false alarms and false laser alerts whereas the Beltronics picks up a tad after the V1 and is missing the directional arrows...but i have to tell you, i would go with the Beltronics because its smaller more compact and fewer false alarms....

My Dad Had One Of Those...

    Aren't Those Illegal?

If They Are, What Do You Do When A Cop Actually *Does* Pull You Over?

Do You Yank It Out, And Throw It In The Back Seat And Pray He Didn't See It?
Radar detectors are Illegal in Washington DC and Virginia ONLY. Inderictly illegal in Minnesota and California, as they have laws that prohibit anything on your windshield.

In Canada, the only three provinces that allow their use are Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan.

Jamming radar is a federal crime and illegal in all of the USA and Canada. Not a single "passive" radar jammer has been proven to work, so dont waste your money on those.

Laser Jammers are illegal in the states of Nebraska, Minnesota, Utah, California, Oklahoma, Virginia, Colorado, Illinois and Washington DC.

Radar detectors are illegal in all commercial vehicles weighing over 10,000 pounds.

I've never heard that before. Why is that?

If a cop passes you and the detector doesn't go off, that doesn't mean its broken, it just means he isn't using his radar gun at the moment.

I've used the Escort Solo S2 SOLO S2 Cordless :: Windshield Mounted Detectors :: ESCORT :: The Radar and Laser Experts
for a few years now and love it. It's cordless and will run for weeks on two AA batteries so swapping to another car or traveling is very easy. I keep it hard wired in my primary vehicle and that gives me auto on/off. I've found it to be very effective.
