    That was my main consideration when I bought this. I really wanted to use Sun Mammoth wheels (conventional brakes). They are at least 1.25" wide and put a lot more grip in the mud by spreading the tire on the wide wheel, but the spoke setup on the CrossMaxx (SCS I think) wheels is incredible, so I went with them.

    i'd like to get a new fork with disc mountings and convert over but like i said, i don't ride enough to justify dropping that kind of coin into it...and i'd also have to get a new rear end triangle too for the disc brake conversion.....and a new bike is almost as much as a decent used car!
