Phantom Vibrate??
Hello fellow Crack(berry) heads-
I'm still relatively new to the almighty BlackBerry, so go easy on me. I've had my Tour for about 3 weeks now and I'm loving every minute of it, but something strange happened earlier today... earlier today it was pouring down rain as myself and some friends made our way across a small parking lot into our favorite sub shop. I was caught up in conversation as we entered the shop when I could have swore I felt a vibration on my hip, so I took my Berry out of its Seidio holster expecting to see a message notification...nada. Nothing was there! Is it possible that I just ''thought'' I felt a vibration? Could the rain have anything to do with this? I wish I would have paid more attention to it instead of ignoring it and reengaging in conversation. I've checked the phone several times for water (i.e. rain) related damage - nothing seems to be wrong with it. It has never done this before and for the life of me I can't seem to replicate it! Please someone tell me that I'm just crazy and what I felt has really just my imagination - I really don't want something to be wrong with my BB!!

Happens to me all the time. Some of it is in my head, some of it (I think) is it resonates with some sounds, some of it is the holster leather rubbing against the belt leather. I've learned to know the difference between "true" and "false" vibrates - the real ones are definitely stronger. This happened to me with other cellphones as well.:)

I have an 8900 and im sure i have experianced what you just mentioned, but i think its just me :p i check the phone and there's no new notifications. There have been times i havnt even had my phone with me and i could have sworn "the phone vibrated" :o

I carry mine in my shirt pocket(I'm sure I'll get breast cancer too).
Yesterday I didn't have it with me all day. Every time something brushed against my shirt I grabbed my pocket thinking it was vibrating.

Don't forget, if u have CaptureIt installed it will vibe when it snaps a screenshot. Sometimes I accidentally hit it by accident since I have it set to a side key.

Yep, phantom vibrations are real LOL I forget where I heard about them, but some news program. Basically your brain is expecting them, so it makes you think you felt something. I get them in/on my leg all the time cuz that's where I keep my phone when I'm sitting down
