I am sure i am not the only one in having this happen.
people always mock/make fun of *YOU* for having a BB device.
This is probably my 3rd time owning a BB device (2nd time since the OS10 launch).

You cant help but be annoyed by the lack of apps and having to find android apk's to make up for the missing app just to 'feel right' ...

please share your experience and how you shut these people up (the ones with the iphones, and samsung refrigerators).

please include which phone you have (Q10, Z10, Z30, etc....)

No point as they think they have the best. My grandson has an Iphone and a big head to go with it.(Love him to bits) I KNOW my Z10 is the best and don't waste my breath on him or anybody.

Don't really waste my breath with them, just show off some new features that BB10 offers and leave them gazing in awe :P
The BlackBerry Z10 makes me feel good as my device and OS and I still don't regret that I chose it. If your phone works right for ya, then why bother making fun of other people, I say?

It's all fun and games. In all honesty it is much or a muchness. I don't need to have a mine-is-bigger-than-yours contest as I'm happy with what I've got and life's too short.

Does it make calls? Ah, then it works as a phone. Well done people.

I find most people just regurgitate the last bad cliche they heard about BlackBerry, but not just BlackBerry with any product and sometimes people.

Call them out on it and just how much they don't know is immediately revealed.

Try it and see, the next time someone speaks on BlackBerry negatively, ask why they say that, and watch them fumble for an answer instead of saying "well that that I heard" and am I blindly repeating.

I have more people say positive things then negative, my usual "issue" with people asking about my phone is that they're corporate bb users who then want to try out the keyboard, which is fine.. but they usually hang on to it typing longer then i'd like!

I usually go through some of the newer functions, like someone above was saying, and they shut up. A look comes over their faces that makes it clear they had no idea what they were talking about, and they're usual response is "that's nice." I wish I had a penny for every nice ive gotten with this phone. Haha

Well here in my place local currency 15 buys 50 mb for normal phones, for BlackBerry 15 can buy 250 mb.

That is 5 times. Plus once subscribed it won't eat your main balance. So my android and ios friends tell me how their balances go down overnight.

I just smile and keep using my z10. Most of them commit to get a BlackBerry to try make me look excited but I don't give a **** unless they buy one.

I have the confidence and thats what makes my z10 special.

I have the Q10 and my daughter has the Z10. (My wife still uses her Bold 9930. Can't get her to change.) Now that I have upgraded my Q10 to 10.2.1.1055 and the home screen speed dial works and I can run Android apps, I think this is the best Blackberry I have ever had and I have had the 8830, 8330, Storm1, Storm2, 9930, Z10, & Q10. My daughter is in a college at a major university and on several occasions Iphone owners have made comments and asked what type of Android phone she has. She replys that she doesn't have an Android and that it is one of the new Blackberrys. Many have replied I thought they stopped making Blackberry's and she tells them no they still make them and that the Z10 is the best phone she has ever had. She lets them play with her phone and they all tell her that they are really suprised about how fast it is and they like the user interface better than their Iphone. So it seems to me that the biggest problem with the Blackberry 10 sales is that there is no marketing or advertising. I never see a Blackberry ad on tv or in magazines. Maybe Blackberry should consider sending a sales team to key locations like universities and shopping malls and set up a display with working models and pass out rebate coupons to customers that they can use after they buy a new Blackberry.

My colleagues at work have iPhones and Android phones but they don't make snarky jibes. In fact, discussing the capabilities, shortcomings and advances in various mboile platforms is common. Only on occasion, I get some good-natured jokes about my "downgrading" from Android to BlackBerry but it is meant as a harmless joke. :-)

At any rate, it is nowhere as irritating as the smartphone wars that happen on the internet!

I did sort of a mini experiment. Not that scientific and pretty small sample size. Took a Gold iPhone 5s and Z10 on the train.

Left my Z10 in my pocket and played with my Gold iPhone. People kept stopping me and asking how I got Gold, how do I like it, iOS7, etc but we're mostly excited about the Gold.

After showing them, I said okay now let me show you something even cooler. I pull my Z10 out with a small piece of black electrical tape cove the word "BlackBerry". People were amazed by what the phone could do. More amazing was when I removed the piece if tape and they say it was a BlackBerry! They were amazed, totally blown away.

Here's the kicker. They all agreed that BlackBerry has really stepped it up, but when I asked if they'd consider buying one, nobody said yes. They all said, they are happy with Android and Apple and have heard bad things about BlackBerry.

Seriously, what's it gonna take to get a few to switch!

Update: I work for a very large company with about 80k employees. Today I was getting coffee in the cafeteria and 2 of our field employees were sitting at the table playing with their phones. (They both were in their early 20's) One had the Iphone 5s and the other had some type of Android phone. I asked them which was better an Iphone or Android. The Iphone user told me that he had an Android for a couple of years and had switched to the Iphone in September. He wishes he had never got the iphone and had stayed with the Android. I asked him to explain, and he told me the difference was the apps. He said that there were more free apps on Android and that he had to pay for all of the apps on the Iphone. So it looks like their decisions were more based on the apps rather than the operating system. So my belief is still that Blackberry needs to get more of their phones in the hands of people by offering rebates and work with the Android App stores to fully support Blackberry 10. As I stated in my previous post, my Q10 with 10.2.1.1055 is the best Blackberry that I have every had. The only thing that it is lacking is either getting shorts from the keyboard to open apps or a 3rd party app to do this like the old legacy program QuickLaunch and the developers making their apps run headless.

Found this a bit funny. Have a Black Q10 from work. We've always been allowed to use our work phones for personal use as well, but since going from BBOS to BB10 we were told to buy personal phones. After a Z30 purchasing debacle I decided to just get a another Q10 cause I really like. This time I'd get White so I wouldn't confuse the phones. Stopped at VZW and the reps kept asking me if I was sure and gave me all sorts of in correct info. Finally, I said to look up XXX-XXX_XXXX number and they saw my corporate account. They saw my Q10 and the other 17,000 employees that had them. I smiled and said..."I think I know what I'm purchasing, thank you". Faces were priceless.

I haven't really encountered anti-BB bias... but iPhones are so common that it's not like owning an iPhone makes you 'elite' or smart or anything. Android devices are often so poor performance-wise, unless it's a recent gen device like S3 / S4 / One / Nexus 5, that it's really those 2 year old Androids that should be made fun of, not BlackBerrys.
