I purchased a Blue and Gold Macaw to reward myself for surviving yet another Tax season.

It's currently being handfed by my breeder, and should be home by June.

I am very excited, but I have a slight dilemma, WTF should I name him/her/it ?

I amassed a list of names over the past month, and I'd really like to hear/read your input as to my list, OR any *interesting* names you have heard over the years.

You didn't say male or female, but I'd try to find something Spanish since these birds come from South America. They are gorgeous birds.

Although the name Cholo/Chola would be hilarious, given my workplace (And the fact that I WILL be bringing my parrot to work) I don't think my clients would appreciate the name....

Howdy Howdy Prada,

I wish I could get back into Macaws.... (sigh), just not home enough to have what amounts to having an unsupervised 3 year old, being at home alone all day.

If it were me, I would visit the breeder as often as possible to get a read on it's personality and to get in on the hand feeding (if possible), and play time. That way when it's time to go home, you will be a calming known factor to the new surroundings. YOur face, your voice and your smell will help a lot with getting used to the new place. But if you already have birds, you know all this and I'm blathering.

Now for names....
Prada wanna crac.... er... no... sorry had to suggest it.
